| Nature-boy06-09-04, 05:45 PM | Okay, since no one posts very regularly on the Unearthed Arcana Board, I'll post here. I went to the bookstore to check out the wilderness rogue variant, but I think they sold our or didn't order any more copies of UA. Can anyone give me that variant so that I may use it in my campaign? It would be greatly apprieciated. |
| Geethree06-09-04, 05:54 PM | I think it's called a Ranger now. |
| Nature-boy06-09-04, 08:41 PM | You would think so, but there was a rogue variant in there somewhere. I'm curious to see what the specifics are. |
| Mr. VanderMeer06-10-04, 06:33 AM | Hehe, smart. You don't buy the book, just scam the info in the bookstore. |
| Nature-boy06-10-04, 11:36 AM | Shhh.:schemes: |
| Edymnion06-10-04, 08:28 PM | Originally posted by Nature-boy Can anyone give me that variant so that I may use it in my campaign? It would be greatly apprieciated. No, because Unearthed Arcana is not an open content book, meaning that posting up copywritten information is illegal and could potentially get whoever does it kicked off the boards. If you want to use the material in the book, then go buy it. If your local store doesn't have it, there's always online places like Amazon.com. People, not buying the books mean the books don't get published. If you don't buy the books, the hobby dies. Its like having a great new movie come out, and nobody goes to see it because they're getting it for free from somebody. That means low box office takes, which means the company that made the movie won't make a sequal because it flopped financially. Same thing here. |

You know, I think UA is open content, or so I've heard. There's even a thread here (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=255291) that talks about if UA could be put in the SRD section. |
| Ryltar Swordsong06-10-04, 08:58 PM | From the Open Content disclaimer on the credits page of Unearthed Arcana: "Except for material designated as Product Identity (see above)and the githyanki/githzerai, slaad, and yuan-ti bloodlines in Chapter 1, the contents of this WotC game product are Open Game Content, as defined in the Open Gaming License version1.0a Section 1(d)." |
| WizO_Catoblepas06-10-04, 09:23 PM | Yep. It's open content. However, the thread belongs over on the Unearthed Arcana board. I'll move it there. |
| baoban sith06-10-04, 10:03 PM | Remove Appraise, Diplomacy, Decipher Script, Forgery, and Gather Information as skills, and add Woodland Stride, Camouflague, and Ranger's Hide in Plain Sight as possible special abilities. |
| trapspringer06-10-04, 10:08 PM | Makes you wonder why you would play a standard rogue, doesn't it? |

Well I'll be darned. Sorry then, my bad. I'll have to go look up whats kosher to post up for UA then, see if things like Gestalt are fair game or not. |
| Nature-boy06-11-04, 09:40 PM | Thanks for your help fellas!:D |
| Knucklehead10-09-04, 08:55 AM | Do you gain any class skills, like Survival or Knowledge (nature)? It seems odd to lose those skills and only gain other options for the rogue special ability. Can anyone elaborate? |
