Has anyone else ever heard of this? I haven't been able to find any information about this online.

A friend that I used to play with described to me the system that his new DM uses. Its called wind and blood. The basic idea is that you have two pools of HP; wind and blood. Sort of like exhaustion (wind) and health (blood).

Most of your HP are wind, and just a few are blood. Most melee damage only effects your wind, but certian attacks effect you by taking blood. So, you may not actually get hit by a sword in a round to take 8 wind damage. But if you get hit with a critical it comes directly from your blood, which is your true health. When your wind gets to zero the attacks take blood. When your blood gets to zero you die.

It seems more realistic because a great warrior really could be killed by one stab from a sword, but that almost never happens to our 12th level fighters.... I wonder though how much of a nightmare it would be to implement. Is it worth it?

Anyway, anyone else ever encountered this?

Nevermind, I see that that is exactly what the Vitality and Wound system is. Forgive a guy who hasn't played in ten years...just getting caught up now!

This sounds like Vitality and Wounds but with a fancy name...

/EDIT: GAH! One minute! Also, it's okay. We all have our moments.
