I was wondering if it would be balanced to combine the Knowledge(Psychotherapy) (or whatever it was called) skill from the sanity variant in "Unearthed Arcana" with the Knowledge(Psionics) skillfrom the "Expanded Psionics Handbook" to form a new skill called Knowledge(The Mind) that gives the combined benefits of both (both seem somewhat limited anyway, by the way, so I don't think that it would be too bad to combine them, but I'm not 100% sure).

So, what do you think? Good idea? Bad idea? What??

Just from a flavor perspective (not saying anything about balance at all), I would avoid doing this. After all, being a psychotherapist does not give you a greater understanding about the unexplained mysteries of the mind in the way of psionics.

Again, this is more for flavor than balance. On balance, I wouldn't do it because it seems to give too much of a perk. It's really two different foci, and to let one skill cover that doesn't seem right to me. I, for one, believe that d20 needs more skills (and likely more skill points for characters), not less. :D
