Someone, can it describe the incantation "Xecilgarasp among the bones" as in "Unearthed Arcana".
The bebelith is a fiend, if it killed, it can raise living with a summoning, no ?

Thanks to answer me.

If a fiend killed on the Material Plan, the find banished for a period of time, but if he summoned again, the fiend can take his first form.
Why in Unearthed Arcana in the sidebar "behind the curtain : creating incantations" (p.177), it writed :
And if Xecilgarasp ever dies while guarding a tomb, the incantation is thereafter useless.

If Xecilgarasp killed, he can come back again, because the bebiltih is a fiend, no ?

Probably because the incantation is a calling, and it is calling a named individual. Thus if you call Xecilgarasp to the Prime Material and he is killed, he will be dead. If you find a way to raise him (Raise Outsider from MotP), the incantation would most likely work as before.

The morninglord, read that I writed above.
For example, Cadderly summoned and killed a glabrezu, the glabrezu banished for a period of time, but if the glabrezu summoned again, the glabrezu didn't banish for a period of a time.

I would say, in the case of that particular incantation, regardless of Xecilgarasp being raised, the incantation never works for you. Hey, you killed him before, you think he's going to come back to you and get killed again?

What kind of name is Xecilgarasp, anyway? I bet they had someone named Cecil at the office who liked to grasp things.

Nah - they may have used the old tried and true "Salvatore" method:

Pick a letter. Good, now pick another one. Alright, now pick a consonant. Keep going until you feel you should stop.

This incantation (I'm not even going to try to spell it) is compared to the planar binding spell, which is a calling. Called creatures are different than summoned creatures. Called creatures, when killed, are dead dead. As we all know, when outsiders die, they are dead dead dead. So, our buddy Xelcigarp -- er, Xecilgrap -- Xelpiscrap -- whatever, Mr. X (I knew I shouldn't have tried to spell it) will not be available for the incantation any more.

also it is a good idea to figure out how the rules for things work in the current edition of the game, rather then relying upon what an author wrote for a book that came out well before 3e.

conjuration spells that bring outsiders to you are divided into two sorts. Conjuration (Summoning) such as from the summon monster line of spells; and Conjuration (Calling) such as from Planar Alley or Gate spells.

A creature who is killed while brought to the material plane with a Conjuration (Summoning spell) is banished back to their home plane.

A creature who is killed while brought with a Conjuration (Calling) spell is simply dead.

hope that helps

Cadderly use the planar binding for the glabrezu in the "Servant of the shard" Novel.

Planar binding isn't even a cleric spell, so cadderly could not have used it.

in fact by 3rd edition (and 3.5) rules cadderly can not use any spells that summon or call evil extraplanar creatures, because spells that do so have the [Evil] subtype, and as a good aligned cleric cadderly is not alowed to cast them.

once again, Bob Slavators books do not nessecarily follow the rules of the game (especialy not of the current edition)... in fact often they do not, and this is a good thing as it makes the novel readable. a Novel that followed the rules of the game to the letter would be boring as heck. for game rulings you should always rely upon what the game rule books say and not a novel.
