1001 Adventure Hooks [Archive] - Wizards Community

10-06-06, 01:00 AM I'm afraid I have finally succumbed and am now starting a "1001" thread. I feel so dirty...

Anyway, all you crazy cats out there probably have some cool adventure hooks to share with us, so here go mine:

1) The hearse is stolen from a funeral in a small village, with the corpse inside...

2) A popular bard dies onstage while performing in the tavern the PCs are in.

3) Local crime-bosses are nervous about a new vigilante group with a religious bent (I admit, I was inspired by "The Boondock Saints").

4) A master thief runs off the one of the PC's pants.

5) A half-sleeping drunk walks up to the party half-orc and repeatedly hugs him while babbling about a mysterious cave.

I can honestly say that I wasn't since I've never seen CSI (not big on cop shows). But, to humor you, here's a couple along different lines.

6) A beautiful Lady from a far off land comes to the queen's court seeking a champion to slay the dragon that is terrorizing her land (bonus points if you guess where it's from).

7) A bard with a mysterious instrument plays odd music and incites strange behaviour in the city.

8) A strange portal has been found in the dungeons beneath the king's throne-room.

10-07-06, 07:19 AM 9. (for epic PCs) a pitfiend comes to the PCs barely alive and tells them that Asmodeus is not as he seems.

10. The royal family has not returned from the neighboring kingdom.

11. The Prince has started babbling in an insane manner. He rambles on about a mage causing mass destruction with a simple cantrip.

12. The farms have become overgrown and plentiful...in the middle of winter.

13. The royal family has been turned into raging monsters.

14. The moon has started to travel in the opposite direction across the sky.

15. The kingdom is suffering from strange weather: blizzards in summer, sandstorms on the coast, heatwaves in winter, and tornados in the mountains.
