4) Use your Ring Of Invisibility to sneak into his lair. Flatter him with comments about how wonderful he is while you inspect his underside for weak spots. After leaving the dragon's lair, tell a thrush (best procured in advance) about a weak spot in the dragon's belly that you noticed. Hope that the thrush will fly down to a nearby human settlement where one of the local citizens has a special ancestral arrow (preferrably one with a high bonus and/or slaying properties) and an ability to speak with thrushes; the local citizen can fire the arrow into the dragon's belly, and hopefully confirm a crit, thereby causing the dragon to fall into the lake where it explodes and/or drowns.

Quite simple, really.

Get a half dozen dwarves. Get them blind stinky drunk. Have Dragon eat them, dragon dies of alcohol poisoning. For better results, blind stinky drunk dwarves polymorphed into maidens, for a more visually appealing meal, making it more likely the dragon chomps down on them.

"Bribe" the dragon by giving it a chest containing, among all the other valuables, every cursed item the party has run into duting its entire career. Return later to polish off the thoroughly-becursed dragon.

Polymorph Any Object. It's easier to snap a twig in half than a dragon.

Brown Mold.

Hahahahaha...I've done that.

I had a sorceror who took a bag of holding full to the elemental plane of fire. The DM thought I was crazy when I wanted to go kill some Salamanders for Xp and an artifact they have in their city....alone.

I showed him.

Same party killed 2 red dragons in same encounter. Despite MR Sorcerer used Baleful Polymorphed on both and turned them into goldfish. The younger died on impact 20d6 falling dmg, the wyrm survived the fall then suffocated as the players poached it with Wave of Steam (our campaign allows energy substitution steam). Was a sad death but we had a good laugh.

Yell "There is no such thing as dragons!" This will cause the dragon to begin to die. Quickly cast silence so that no one nearby can start clapping their hands to save it... oh wait that was for fairies ;)

At a convention, the party was fighting a dragon (2nd edition). I was using Boots of Springing combined with a weapon of speed (combo allows you to attack and jump away before initiative is rolled), and the DM was slowly manipulating my movement (Oh, someone is in the way, you need to jump here) until I jumped into a previously unexplored room.

Everyone at the table was laughing when the DM put an even larger figure of a red dragon next to me.

DM: Roll for surprise.
Me: No. I'm surprised.
DM: What do you mean?
Me: I'm truly surprised. I really didn't expect this and I should have.
DM: You are letting the dragon go first without a roll?
Me: Yup. I'm surprised.

DM was totally stunned by reaction. Dragon breathed. Luckily, I had a Frostbrand in hand, and made my saving throw. With all of that, I was down to 3 hps.

I won initiative the next round, and passed a note to the DM. He chuckled, rolled a dice in front of everyone, and came up with a natural 1. (A bit of swearing was present for awhile).

When the party finished off the first dragon, they walked into a room and saw an ancient dragon with a giant footprint on its head that apprently crushed its skull. They really had no clue what happened.

My character was a rogue/wizard, but hides the part about them knowing magic. Polymorph Other combined with feeling lucky = huge xp bonus at end of adventure.

I'll second this--also, be sure not to bring any dwarves along when you loot his lair. They'll just take all the best treasure for themselves.

8)
Wait for the dragon to fly at you.

Wait till the dragon is just barely on top of you and is close enough that it can't possibly turn in it's next round with out crossing your tile (clumsy manoverability and all).

Cast gate and send it to the negitive energy plane.

13?: Water. Lots of it. Maybe a Decanter of Endless Water set to geyser. Watch the dragon and all of its hoard float out to you. :D

...and in the process probably start a big fat war with men, elves, goblins and eagles at each other's throats, too. Damn dwarves.

Impress and sway a small savage race into believing you are a demi-god of sorts with your powers and then arm them with big vats of acid and other destructive substances...like poisons. Then make them drink "Magic Kool-aid" (a toxic delayed poison) and have them take off towards the dragon. Have them swallowed by dragon. Dragon dies.

-Acid damage from gallons and gallons of imbued corrosive substances.
-Poison Coctail in large quantaties lowers alot of the dragon's abilities and may kill him.
-Tenacious zealots tearing out of it's stomach do alot of damage.
-Whatever fodder doesn't make it is digested and adds to the toxicity of the dragon.

Walk in with a slaying arrow (think it's 1,200 gp) and drop that MFer cause he won't make the fort 20 dc cause he's deathly ill.

Spit on his corpse as he cools and watch it turn to steam.

15) Take one dose of that spell that does 3d6 Dex damage. Touch dragon. Dragon is helpless with 0 Dex. Coup de grace dragon with a dagger until it dies.

16) Wizard 9/Fatespinner 5, use Finger of Death (DC 20 minimum), wear a Headband of Intellect +6 (DC 23), spend 5 spin on it, (DC 28), use that nifty ability to make it have -10 to it's saves (effective DC 38). If it makes the save, force it to reroll. Provided you can beat it's SR, of course.

17) Allip based Wisdom draining, ho!

And make sure it doesn't plane shift right back.
That assumes that it knows the planeshift spell, or is even high enough level to cast it. Don't forget, a dragons magical abilites lag heavily behind that of an equiveland CR caster. But yes, if it can planeshift, quickly go in after it and dimention anchor it.

16) Repeated Disintigrate/wall of stone to carve out a big block of stone in the celing above where he slept. This was all done from outside tunnelling in rather than from inside his cave, he had no idea anything was up. Finally one dispel to take out the wall of stone holding everything up (this was back in the days when wall of stone was dispellable) and a big block of stone crushed it's head. End of dragon. I don't recall how long it took to prepare (many days) but the actual battle was over in a single action.
