1001 DnD holidays [Archive] - Wizards Community

08-10-06, 11:04 AM Pretty self explanatory, 1001 different Dungeons and Dragons holidays.

1.The Hunt-Every 3 years the town all gets together and hunts down a theme monster for that triyear. Like, Chimeras, or Hydras, things like that.

3. Night of the Masques - Local children dress up as orcs, goblins, trolls, and dragons and wander around the town knocking on doors and asking for tasty sugary treats :P

08-11-06, 01:36 AM October 1st 1989, my Minitaur fighter Character finally challenged the god of war and won, throwing him down and taking his place. This date every year we (well, mostly just me) celebrate by drinking heroically, ripping our shirts off, and charging around the bar with index fingers pointin up on either side of our heads like horns...

Well, I wish it was this way, but the DM still insists that the god of war won.

5) Day of Slaughter (Erythnul). No one likes to go out that night; it is the holiest of holy days to the Mad God of Blood, when his followers attempt to redden the world as much as they can in a night, for glory in His Unholy Name.

6) The Days of the Forging (Moradin). A week of holidays dedicated to the All-Forger, the Days are a time for the Dwarves to reflect on the gifts given by the Forger:
the Forge, seat of the Dwarven culture.
the Mine, source of their wealth.
the Stone, home and bastion.
the Ore, the raw stuff from which the All-Forger formed them.
the Craft, that which puts them above all other races in the eyes of the All-Forger.
the Hammer, symbol of the Forger's creation and destruction in equal measure.
the Law, gift of the All-Forger to preserve their ancient heritage.
culminating in the Day of the Forger, a time for thanksgiving for the Forger's gifts.

7) Festival of the crown- Varies depending upon the Sovereign of the State. On the date of His or Her Birth, there is a day of celebration it happens all around the Realm, but the main festival is in the Capital with fireworks, magic shows and Parades. Every 5th year or around significant ages, 21,30,40 etc the Festival is larger lasting three days.

8) Mustering Day - Marking the date of the last encampment of a great general generations past before marching off to a war he would never return from. marked by a solemn precession for the fallen soldiers of the Realm. And then Massive Military Parades and Nationalist sentiment. Especially signifigant during times of Hardship calling on Fallen heroes to return and save the Kingdom in it hour of need

I'm going thi Bugs Bunny's Birthday on that, and I have another to Add.

10) Planters Day - approximately 4 weeks after the Winter Equinox or after the thaw. Celebrates the beginging of a new season for farmers.

18: Have you hugged your Goblin ? day
19: Festival of the Diggers...: Big festival for whatever specise tunnelled the underground of the city, be it dwarves, Goblins, etc.
20: Day of Scorn: Townsfolk throw bricks at effigies of their worst rulers (not current though) and other villains
21: Prank day: Started when Human villages wanted some warm revenge on tricky gnomes...
