Possibly something akin to evil DM threads but hey!
1) Plain and simple, the tarrasque
2) Game of blackjack with a Deck of many things
3) 'Gate' trap to the centre of the sun
4) Epic level goblin (never underestimate the little people)
5) PHB over the head!

As I said, this is nothing more than the OP's attempt at being cute (in response to the anti-1001 thread).

Please excuse me for being ignorant, but what does TPK mean?

Please excuse me for being ignorant, but what does TPK mean?

I've been gaming for a decent amount of time (since about 5 or so years before 3rd edition), and these boards have still thrown many acronyms at me I'm not familiar with. I'll toss up my best guesses at a few of these (I'm almost positive I have the gist of them, even if the wording isn't exact).

TPK - Total Party Kill. (Usually the result of brash, insane DMs, or foolhardy, careless players)
BBEG - Big Bad Evil Guy. (A main recurring villain in a game, for instance)
FLGS - Friendly Local Gaming Store.

If any of those are wrong, someone please correct and inform. Thanks.

I sincerly hope that it never will. Although, It's come to the point where 1001 threads are so famous you may see these one day:

1001 Bad Ideas for a 1001 thread
1001, 1001 threads that have been overdone
1001 Reasons why 1001 threads are bad

Or while were on the topic about threads about the forum

1001 Good calls to lock a thread by the moderators
1001 Bad calls to lock a thread by the moderators
1001 People(on these boards) that annoy you

If the "1001 People(on these boards) that annoy you" thread ever gets created, I would hope someone puts me on it. You know your important when you have enemies after all.

I'm hopeing that some day we see the occational 'serrious' or 'useful' 1001 thread, such as:

1001 adventure ideas
1001 NPC ideas
1001 cool encounters (non-TPK kind)
1001 Place Names
1001 NPC Names
1001 Interesting combat tactics

You get the idea.
It's quite possible that these threads have been done, but who cares, It's more interesting to watch them evolve now, then to see what 200 people from 2004 said.

Anyhow, I would start one of these right now, but I don't think that it is a good idea given the current one-sided debate thats raging.

Now to avoid being hypocritcal and derailing a thread...

6)Rule 0 that the PCs are all dead.
7)secretly pass a note to one player that say "The next thing the other guy jokes about will kill his character. If you warn him in anyway, It'll kill yours" Pass another note with the identical message to the other guy. They'll end up trying to bait each other into making a dumb joke, expecting to have each other killed by a poo golem or something. In the end, they'll both make jokes, and die.
8)Animated +200 fork.

The players are all merely extenstions of my will anyhow, even when I'm not the DM.

These threads are like rats in a grain shaft. No matter how many you kill there is always more. It is maddening.

As for the OP who created another useless irratating and stupid 1001 thread: Dude, no one thinks your cool becuase you have a long thread, and no one cares about different ways to kill their party. Some actually enjoy playing the game, and try to aviod TPKing our party. So leave you with the words of Stewy griffon: YOU SUCK!

Well the funniest way I've ever killed players was more of an accident.

They had to get by a corridor with a lot of block continuously slamming together. I gave them an Int test to see if they could figure out the timing, and then a reflex save to get by.

The first four made it no problem, the fifth was the gnome artificer, he botched the Int test, and failed the following reflex save, and took 3d6 dmg (they were 5th level, so it wasn't much) He went down to -1 HP, lying midways through the corridor, and the trap would close 2 rounds later.

Two of the others a monk and a psionicist made a brave attempt to rescue him, and ran in after him. The psionicist took out his bag of holding, and bagged the gnome.

Well, we have a rule that any extra dimensional items, cannot be in another extradimensional item. Even though the rules only specify it for Portable Hole and Bag of Holding. The rule is there simply to avoid strange complications with bags in bags and so on. Using the rule from the Portable hole, bag of holding thing, the gnome was carrying a Hewards handy Haversack, and wupti the three were sucked into the astral plane. The content of the bag is destroyed, so the gnome was killed.

It has to be said, the gnome himself pointed out he had the Haver Sack, and that they should be sucked in.

Being only fifth level, they opted making new characters since they couldn't figure out how to get back.
The other two players decided it was a very malicious trap, since it took a 5 ft radius globe out of the floor ceiling and walls, and three friends.

The two survivers was a shifter druid, specializing in charging with his horns (pretty effective with his powerfull charge and rhino armor), the other a rogue specializing in disarming with a chain.

Silas,
you do realize that almost everything you hypothesized about in your sblock already actually exists.
(Except the 1001 people to be ignored)... for that there isn't a thread (it would blocked as inflammatory), but do you have signatures turned on? If not, it might be worth looking at mine.
