| NinjaE09-21-05, 11:25 AM | 2: Pun-pun the kobold. Depends on how long you and pun-puns' player have been friends. >1 year; kill the ****er and hide the body. 1-3 years; boot his ass from the game. 3-6 years; tear up his character sheet, then burn it and scatter the ashes to the four winds. Let him reroll using only 3d6. 6< years; Have the first Pun-pun( who, being older, has been in the infinity loop for far longer) appear to kick the upstart wannabes' butt. If the player wins anyway, he deserves it. Now, use whatever tactic he did to kill him, and rule that having spent as long in a timestop as pun-pun has makes him ineligible for ressurection. |
| revnk09-21-05, 11:34 AM | 3) I hate to state the obvious and to be not-funny about it, but the easiest way to deal with broken classes is to tell your players that they can't play those classes because they're broken. |
| Spike_Fightwicky09-21-05, 12:21 PM | 4) Put them up against an Improved Grab/Swallow whole monster. That way when they make a new character, they might try something less broken. Purple worms can be advanced, so they're effective any level from 12 and onward. :D |
| Gurthoron09-21-05, 12:29 PM | Scout, broken? Now thats funny. I've always found scout to be a little weak. Anyway . .. 5.) Send your BBEG through the character optimization board for some improvements. 6.) Cheat 7.) Have a mirror fight: PCs fight mirror copies of themselves. |
| katarl09-21-05, 03:07 PM | Never have a mirror fight, i was in an epic campaign where that happened. The player insisted he kill it, so my mage hopped off to his mansion 2000 miles away (i, semi-roleplaying left too). Having finished watching a film, came back, saw they weren't finished and killed them both with one shot. 8. Outpower them! You are the dm, so you should have a far better knowledge of the rules than they do. Create a rival, with better abilities, and laugh in their face when they fail. 9. Subtle manipulation Use psychological warfare to convince them that they want to play a 'real' roleplaying character instead. 10. Exploit Weakness - every overpowered character must be specialised somehow, so will have a weakness. Exploit it until dead. 11. Have their equipment taken away! See the mighty half-elf wizard stumble without his spellbook, or the power-hungry weapon (sword) master miss again and again with just a toothpick. 12. Intrigue and Vendetta- Brainwash the other players, pushing them all up against him, pressuring him to weaken his character 13. All out war! Have his characters nation declare war. Guess whos suddenly drafted and can't play! |
| malignor09-21-05, 03:36 PM | 7) Play their encounters to the full potential; get out of "stormtrooper syndrome" and run NPC enemies who think and plan ahead |
| Koga:The ninja trick09-21-05, 09:34 PM | Penalties, pure and simple. A -X attack or damage roll here, a little extra damage dealt to them there, some EXP penalties some where.. call it the karma system.. |
| feartheinvinceblehamster09-21-05, 09:41 PM | 7) Play their encounters to the full potential; get out of "stormtrooper syndrome" and run NPC enemies who think and plan ahead i do that okay. i have a room in the dungeon for 6th level PCs with some ogres. not hard right? wrong. i optimized the entire room to play to the ogre's strengths. litterally. oh you down an ogre? the other ogre bull rushes you off the rickety rope bridge that requires a DC 15 balence check to stand on and you fall 20 feet...into the lava. you just took 22d6 points of damage. bet you feel special. i don't feel the scout class is broken |

| Silais09-22-05, 03:52 AM | 14. Templates, Templates, and for the heck of it more templates I once nearly killed my overpowerd half-dragon fighter with a vampiric, half-dragon, winged, infernal, paragon, advanced, dire cat. 15. Advance the crap out of something for example, take the common toad. Add 40HD to it and let it reak havok. This next ones my favorite: 16. Take the livng spell template, apply to the wish spell, kill. 17. Combind 14 and 16 |
