Try not to post too much, it's only 101

3. The players are beset by a pack of Were-Reindeer. The leader, with a red nose, draws his sword and says "Christmas just got cancelled!" :D

5. Any Elves in the party must spend the next adventure making presents for all the good little boys and girls, while the other players continue their quest!
Reverend Duck

6. A troublemaker has stolen a wizard's orb of storms and hung it in the Christmas tree in the middle of the city square, then spread the word to everyone in the city. The PCs must locate the magic orb before someone else does and puts it to bad use.

5. Any Elves in the party must spend the next adventure making presents for all the good little boys and girls, while the other players continue their quest!

They are attacked by thongs of shoppers at the holiday market when they try to replenish thier supplies.

Also, I used the following "Holiday game" which I designed using the incantation rules in Unearthed Arcana. I include it for your enjoyment.

Dark Man
(Divination)

Effective level: 6th
Skill Check: Perform (chant: 12)
Failure: Delusion, Augmentation
Components: V,S,M,F
Casting time: 60 minutes
Range: Close
Duration: hours, to give everyone time to “play”
Saving throw: None
Spell resistance: No

This incantation is used by young unmarried females during the either on new years or the winter solstice as part of the “holiday festivities”. It is thought to be a harmless game, predicting whom their husbands are to be. The dark man they believe is their husband to be. Each person recites a short incantation, “Dark Man Dark Man show your self to me” and tosses a nut in the fire. The nut pops out to trace the form of letters. The girl then gets a description which may be accurate (successful Perform: chant, DC 12) or not. Results such as a Blacksmith, a dark haired man, etc, are common.
If there are two failures in a row, the girl who last failed gets the “result: Dark Man” all players laugh and forget about it. All are under the delusion that this is a simple party game.
But, if that girl sleeps at all that night the Dark Man comes to her in her dreams and she is blissfully “wedded”.
If the character is 4th level or 1st level in a class with divine spell casting ability, even if they can’t cast yet, she may make a will save (DC 16+ their own Cha modifier, the Dark Man tries harder to ensnare the “talented”) to “escape”.
If they save, they remember vague dreams of a wedding much like the scene in Legend (of course it was only a dream). If they fail, or if they never get a save, they are “augmented” with the following “wedding gift”. Regardless, only one girl (if that) is selected in the casting. After all, evil can be subtle.

Wedding gift

Alignment: Good/Evil component becomes Evil.
+1 level Sorceress, the GM may substitute a level in any spell casting class they already have.
Charisma: +4 to a minimum of 15. This is a gradual effect, with the Charisma going up 1 point per month.
Feat: Skill focus: Bluff, at GM’s option it may replace a previous feat to empathize the new “direction” her life has taken. She is also eligible and eager to receive feats in the Book of Vile Darkness.
Deity: All previous loyalties are dropped in favor of the Dark Man.

Factors: Requires a skill not on wizard list -1, casting time severely restricted-8,
Range: Close -4, target limited: unmarried humanoid females -3 minutes to hours (they are doing this all night) +2, 11 or more casters (this is a “party game”, often; the hostess is a previous “bride” who may “encourage” a target to fail. “Gee dear, you look tired, why don’t you lie down in the back room.”)-6.

All the best,

Nani?

9. Snowman Golem attacks!

10. Religious (Cleric and paladin) PCs are roped into going carolling with the church. If they sing well, +1 reaction modifiers within the community, additional +1 within the church community. If they sing poorly -2 reaction modifiers within the church only. Reaction modifiers last for holiday season.

11. PCs are expected to donate to the poor (time and money) during holiday season. PCs who are not generous quickly earn a bad reputation as misers and scrooges.

12) "Dashing Through the Snow"
A short encounter for characters level 1.

Plot: Its christmas (or any strang winter holiday your world has in where parents dress up in a red suit [or green or blue or purple] and give their children presents [a lashing, small pox]) in the city of Littleton. All the houses are decorated in festive colors with small colored laterns scattered around the small town filling it with all maner of colors. In the night a small gang of theives have gone to each house stealing anything they could [copper, chairs, the childrens presents, a lash, small pox] in which they put into sled at the edge of town (drawn by 1 horse). The theives are discovered when they try and steal gifts from the lords house and the chase is on.

Hook: The PCs are awoken (or still up drinking mead) and hear the crys in the street of theft. The lords guards are found in the street offering 100g to the man or men that stops the theives and the tavern/inn owner offers the PCs to use his sled (also drawn by only a single horse) to catch the men if they give him 10% of their earnings.

Combat: Because of the weight of the things the theives took the tracks made are easily followed and makes the sled slow enough to be cought. One of the theives onboard the sled has a crossbow and will atempt to shoot the PCs. Once the PCs catch up the theives will try and use some of the less valuable items they stole to hit the PCs and eventually if they cannot out run the PCs they will stop and fight. Before they stop the sorcerer will cast bullstrength on each of the rogues using a his wand.

I'm no english professor (and I cannot speel), but I think you mean throngs, as a thong is a thin strip of leather (originaly). Anyhoo, no biggie

(16) Your next adventure is called "Troll! The ancient yuletide carol"

(17) All your goblins wear santa hats
b5201

12-01-05, 08:25 PM
18(addition to 12):The party hits carolers and 1 child in pursuit of them :D
Zorminster

12-01-05, 08:43 PM
19) Adventurers get wish lists from long lost relatives stating "I want XX XXX X X X X X X XX X XX X X X X X X X or a curse will be laid upon you!" You know, then you get the obligatory plot hook- your a paladin but your uncles a mighty evil sorceror or some such....

20) Adventurers find barrels of Eggnog instead of Ale

21) Adventurers walking through town with a charisma under 12 or so get pelted by snowballs
Rocketboy13

12-01-05, 08:51 PM
22) A holiday adventure is locating the Kingdoms "it" toy for the solstice festival

23) Regardless of the structure, the rooves in town are lined with tiny, multicolored lights.

24) No matter where they are, the game world is constantly snowing throughout the month of December.

25) If a paranoid PC rolls a nice Spot check, he sees a small snowman. If he/she keeps rolling spots, they see the same snowman over and over.

26) The spirits of Christmas past, present, and future are haunting a rich noble, it is your job to eliminate them.

RocketBoy, I like that suggestion. I think I'll have to use it. :) Actually, I like a lot of these suggestions.

Unfortunately, I don't have any ideas of my own to add. :-P

One note with the futurama Robot Santa theme :D

28: A warforged dressed up as (Ebbron's equivalent of Santa) Is going on a rampage, using ironically themed attacks/weapons to kill innocents and generally ruin christmas. The pcs have to stop him! Here's the catch though...

He IS Santa/the equivalent, he just went apepoop because of the demand on this particular year on his psyche. Make sure the PCs find out, or they might be known as the adventurers that killed christmas! :p

29. The three ghosts of christmas visit the character who hoards the parties treasure.
30. If the PCs make a list, Santa will come and give you a low-powered magic item. Problem is, all of your enemies made a list.

31) The price of EVERYTHING in this town doubles weekly, starting a month before the Winter Solstice Festival. For some unknown reason, nobody will admit to buying much but the shops are always full of people. Then the prices double yet again two days before the festival and THEN everybody goes shopping ... all at once.

32) While the Elves are magically compulsed to make presents &c, the Half-Elves want to go about singing songs, telling stories, &c with a holiday theme. Oh, did I mention that my character is a Half-Elf bard? :)

33. The PCs spens the night in the home of a wizened old Ranger, who shares the day's kill with them. Mmm, reindeer steaks!

34. The next day, they encounter a not-so-jolly fat man in a red suit, who can't make his magic sled go because "some stupid backwoods redneck shot Cupid! How will I ever get these toys to the starving children before they die of typhus??"

If none of your players mutter, "Oh crap," change their alignments to Evil. :evillaugh:

Remember everyone snowballs are a touch attack :D
b5201

12-03-05, 12:18 PM
I'm gonna do the snowball thing how much damage does it do?
Range?
Gemmalah

12-04-05, 10:23 AM
Would the range of a snowball depend of the strengh of the user?

Or you know when horrid kids take a piece of ice and wrap it in snow before they lob the snowball at you... Well thats definately piercing damage... I've got a mark to prove it!

35: It is the night before winter festival, a troll and his dog (perhaps a shadow mastiff for flavor) sneak down into a village and without anyone noticing, save a tiny fey-like child, take all of the villagers gifts, food, and personal belongings back to a secluded lair in the mountains near the village. The people of the village beg the adventuring party to help get their possessions back in time for the winter festival.

36: A member of the party is suddenly afflicted with a stange curse. Add template "Santa" to character (increase the character's weight to jolly, add long white facial hair, deepen the voice, cookie and milk fixation, add charisma bonus, preference to the company of elves, add spell like abilities such as fly, reduce person, invisibility, and the like, ect...) and have party try and figure out what is going on with the Santa PC.

41. How about nothing bad happens at all and your PCs, if they are famous are treated to a free christmas lunch at their favourite tavern.

42. Pcs mission is to deliver toys to the local orphanage.

43. At least one NPC has to say 'bah humbug!'
