This will be an awesome thread. We can create 101, or maybe even more, ideas for short quests that players can go on. Might be very interesting.

#1 - Number One - The Adventure of the Suicidal Cobbler
The PCs, in their adventures, find a cobbler that has lost all hope in life and is going to go suicide by jumping in a raging river. However, his sandals of water walk were imbued on his feet with a powerful curse he did himself to keep him from drowning, and he wants the PCs to find a way to uncurse the shoes.

No spells will dispel it, although a wish or miracle can, but it would be a great waste of EXP. The PCs must make a short trek to a nearby cemetary and enter a mausoleum to find a celestial needle that will remove the curse. It is guarded by a few reanimated monks (humanoid Monk 5 with undead qualities). Then they must find a small altar to St. Cuthbert, in which the cobbler put the celestial needle within.

The cobbler will give the PCs the sandals of water walk, as well as 10d10+400 gp worth of goods in his small shop down town. The PCs also get to keep his small shop and can use it as a storage place when they are away or some such.

The PCs can persuade the cobbler to not commit suicide. The cobbler will give them some enchanted shoes of some sort. However, the cobbler doesn't really want to discuss to the PCs why he needs the celestial needle, but he can release the information of why he needs it with enough discussion. The cobbler is well known in the town for fine shoes and the PCs can find him near any river, a tavern, in his shop, or at any meeting place.

The Quest for the Delicious Cheese
Ok, so there is a very wealthy woman in this town, and she really likes cheese. A lot. So, she is hiring people to go get her some cheese wheels so she can at last sample them! The cheese wheels can be of just about any caliber...I personally would make one be made only by a minotaur in a deep cave. Or maybe a strange island that people make cheese to sacrifice to their gods. And when the PC's bring the cheese back... awesome rewards in gold and treasure! A fun quest indeed.

hmmm this thread is dying! Time for another awesome quest.
#3 Where art thou Brother?
As the PC's enter a peaceful town, someone runs up to them and asks if they have ventured to the __________ mountains. (The PC's should answer no) He then pleads that you find his brother in those mountains or at least bring the remains back so he can at least have a proper burial. I admit this isnt as good as my last one, but maybe we can get some more side quests going!

4) The local count is in negoiations with someone, and belives that they are slipping him something to make him more agreeable. The PC's have to find out if they other party is being bad or if some other party is doing this to frame them.

The PCs come to an inn, and hear strange sounds at night. It's a child ghost, looking for his toys.

#6 The Duelist (watch the Quick and the Dead with Sharon Stone that inspired this mini adventure)

A peaceful village is taken over by a bandit lord, who happens to be very very good with his sword.

Every year he sends out challenges for people to come to his annual tournement.

The night before the tourney begins, everyones names gets thrown into a hat. Pairs are drawn to see who will fight who.

The first few rounds are fought to first blood. But then one contest one of the PC's is fighting in, the Duelist orders him to kill the NPC opponent. If he doesnt, the duelists men (which there are many) will come down and do it for him, then do the PC too.

At this point the duelist announces all fights will be to the death.

The townfolk are willing to hire one of the adventurers to kill the duelist... 300 gold is all they can scrape together...

At some point the PC's may have to face each other in a fight to the death! how will the PC's handle this! There is a cleric in town, but he is old, and not powerful enough to cast raise dead... if they are going to fool the duelist they must put on a good show!

Finally one of the PC's will have to face the duelist... the rest of the PC's will have to contend with the duelists ever present men that surround the town...

Who will win?! or will this be the end of the PC's?
