| phoen77704-20-07, 05:44 PM | 69. "Dollar, the Magical Talking Beer Mug" Description: Appears to be an ordinary glass mug. In actuality, it is an Intelligent magical item, created long ago by a demented dwarven bartender. Dollar has Int 10, Wis 10, and Cha 14. It can speak Common in a voice that sounds very much like Cheech Marin, and is forever attempting to convince its owner to "Get wasted!" Dollar's sole purpose for existing is to get whoever owns it to drink tremendous amounts of alchohol, and to this end it is has the power to magically fill itsself with cold, frosty ale of the highest quality, and grants the owner a +4 bonus on Fortitude saves to resist the effects of intoxication. Despite the boons of owning such a cup, Dollar rarely finds a master willing to keep it, as it is rude and abrasive, and enjoys convincing drunken people (particularly the owner) to perform stupid and dangerous stunts, humiliate themselves publicly, and sleep with ugly members of the opposite sex. Many fed-up owners have attempted to dispose of the mug over the centuries, but (in some way no one has yet been able to figure out) Dollar was made 100% indestructable. It can be used as a +1 Weapon if desired, and in the hands of a character with the Drunken Master prestige class (Complete Warrior, if I am not mistaken) its enhancement bonus becomes +5. Weight: 1 lb. Cost: Depends on the buyer, but more likely than not they will eventually want their money back! I actually created this for one of my games, as one of my PCs was fond of asking every NPC he encountered for a dollar, and had a habit of drinking himself into unconsciousness every night at the tavern. So one day, when he inevitably asked someone for a dollar, they shoved the mug into his hands, yelled "It's yours now, sucker!" and ran off. :D |

When this happens they must roll a will save of 1, add another 1 to that will save for every time they look at the painting after. If they fail the will save they go insane. If once they have saw the painting has changed slightly 5 or more times and they stare at the picture there is a 50% chance for something in the picture to move slightly (such as a character in the painting winking at them). If this happens then they must make a will save of 15 + the number of times they have noticed the painting change. Cost: anywhere from 1-500 gp Weight: Depends on size of painting |

| raalynthslair09-07-07, 12:25 PM | 148 - A silver (or plat.) ring with a small pink heart on it. Magical, when worn it does one of the following: 1) Polymorphs the wearer into a human female child (about 7-9 years old) in the cutest, most frilly and adorable clothing; or 2) (if the person is female) simply makes them THINK they're a child that likes said clothing - (In #1 there's nothing that makes the person think they like anything other than what they would). The ring is intelligent and aware and will only halt the effect (otherwise permanent - Remove Curse or Greater Restoration (or in the case of #1 a polymorph cast to turn the person back) if the person asks to be returned to normal, using the phrase "Pretty pretty please with sugar on top" as part of their plea. 149 -The reciprocal of the ring above, it is silver (or plat.) with a small blue gemstone shaped like a heart on it. This does the same as above, but changes the person into a small human male child (about 7-9 years old) wearing a cute "sailor collar" school uniform with shorts and knee-high socks (like Angus of AC/DC but without the jacket and with a "sailor collar" (Japanese school uniform style thing) shirt instead). The alternate is the same, for male characters, which is to make them THINK they are said age and enjoy said uniform/style. -- Same ways to remove and/or reverse. -- Special - If either one of these effects multiple people in the same area (eyesight of each other) the children will want to play tag or hide-and-seek (or any kids game you can think of). If both rings are in effect in the area the same will occur, but it'll likely be boys-vs-girls if there are multiples of both, otherwise they play as any other child. ((Those are something a GM threw in some loot at a table I played at once to screw with a pair of very greedy players/player characters in the party - it was a riot for the rest of us, who they constantly hid trinkets and gems from by getting to the loot first, darned sneaky untrustworthy rogues!)) 150 - Something totally useless in most instance, but life saving if actually needed -a thick belt of yellow material that feels like soft leather (it's a rubber-like stuff actually). If the wearer is suddenly plunged into deep water (anything 50% deeper than they are tall) the belt magically inflates into a floatie (a dinosaur with a head in the front and tail in the back) that will float the wearer as long as needed and anyone that can hold onto the wearer or floatie while in the water. It can float up to 450 lbs as long as needed and will revert to it's normal shape/size when the wearer can stand and lift his/her waist out of the water (once the floatie leaves water it instantly reverts). It has only three charges however, even this dinosaur will soon be extinct. |

Although it may be worth more to you should you come up with some new phiosophical arguments for the existence of the gods. |

| Drinkie10-25-07, 01:19 PM | 5) A small mouse in a cage. Decription: The cage has a skull and cross bones on it. Weight: 5 pounds. Value: 1 silver This sounds more like the beginning of one of those  encounters than a treasure. I mean, c'mon! The cage has a skull and cross bones on it, if someone decides to play with it anyway, I have no sympathy. |

| Sidar Jabari10-25-07, 11:26 PM | item 162: Elvish Wooden Statue description: This is an ornately carved wooden statue inlaid with gold and copper leaf. Curiously, it does not have a flat edge so that it will stand up. Value: You could sell it to a gullible human as artwork for up to 10gp. Attempts to sell it to an elf will result in humiliating laughter as he points out that it is a stick of firewood that they burn by the cord where he comes from. Effect: The feathery carved texture makes it ignite easily and the metal foil makes it burn pretty colors. (Explanation: My game world emphasizes the alienness of the elves. Elves waste a lot of time, since they have much more of it compared to the short-lived races. They create no permanent art and do not hoard gold, being more aware than others of the temporary nature of material things. Think Tibetan monks.) |
| 12Shark10-26-07, 03:17 AM | 163)Erwin's Mystery Box You hold in your hands a large carved wooden box. A Search Check reveals a small hinge extending inside the box on one face, while a Detect Magic spell (or similar effects) shows the presence of strong transmutation and abjuration magic. A disable device check (DC 40) can disable the mechanism within. Opening the box collapses the spell within, and there is a 50% chance of a cat jumping out, and a 50% chance of a dead cat being found within. If the mechanism has not been previously disabled, opening the mystery box to a dead cat releases burnt othur fumes in a 5ft radius, forcing a DC 18 save or take 1 Con damage and 3d6 Con damage 1 minute later. If the cat is alive when the box is open, it is automatically friendly to the person who opened the box, and will follow the person around where possible. There is also a lump of sickstone within, which crumbles to dust when the box is opened. Schrodinger’s Cat CR 1/2 TN Tiny Magical Beast Init +2; Senses Low Light Vision. Since then, the design has seen extensive use among all people with money, from adventurers to bored nobles. Pointing the rod at someone and pressing the button on it causes their speech to suddenly speed up to breakneck speeds, causing whatever it was that was so tremendously important to be said within six seconds. However, this use horribly mangles whatever they were trying to say and ruins any spell with a casting time longer than a full round action. A will save DC 25 can be made to resist the effect. Other variations include higher save DCs, for use by higher level adventurers. Moderate Transmutation, CL 15th, Haste, 5000gp (DC 25), 25000gp (DC 30), 55000gp (DC 40) |
| Sidar Jabari10-26-07, 09:09 AM | Item 165: Painting Sand description: The dungeon has a tunnel cut through a rare, but generally useless mineral vein. The floor is coated with fine sand that is a consistent, bright color. You could sweep it up and keep it dry and bring it to the surface. value: To most, 0gp (it's just dirt). To the right monks, 2d10gp per pound. effect: I don't know, do sand mandalas have magical effects in your campaign? Treat as a material component. |
