Greetings,

I've played for 3 years D&D now. But now my DM has moved to England. So we three players are left alone in this hole in holland with no other D&D players.

Do you think with 3 years of experience as player that it is possible to run a 2 player campaign?

Sure. Of course, I have no idea what constituted your three years of experience, but 2 player campaigns are in my opinion easier to run than larger groups. 2 players is good, I usually run either solo campaigns or 3-5 players, but I have run a few 2 player games and they can be very cool. Focus more on roleplaying, create realistic NPCs to fill the silence, and if your players get along then you will have a blast.

As for DMing just do it, and adapt to what works with your players and makes you happy. There is alot of advice out there, I could give plenty, but when it gets down to it, you have to find the style for your group. You have played for 3 years so you probably have an idea what your group likes, but create a poll or ask some questions to make sure and off you go.

Use pre-fab modules to get started and take it slow.

It's actually easier to run two-player campaigns. Why, you ask? Well for starters you've only got to come up with enough combat and challenges to keep two guys occupied, instead of the normal four or five. You only have to people that you need to think ahead of......I can't tell you how many times my larger groups have already figured out what was gonna happen simply by virtue of the fact that there were four minds working on it instead of two.

Finally, you only have to worry about keeping two players happy and interested. This allows you to do a little more of what you want, instead of trying to keep four or more guys entertained.

If you're worried about them not being able to survive standard adventures, then you could allow them to go gestalt, give them a free cohort or two, or just simply scale back the number and CR of enemies that they do face.

I DM'd a 2-player group for a while, and I loved it. The games were that much more intimate and tight-knit.
