Hi

I can't found answers for these question in the PHB:

1. How many time "Rear a Wild Animal" action from Handle Animal skill takes?

2.For Move Silently skill you take -5 penalty for speed greater than one-half but less than full, -20 for running or charging. But what is the penalty for full speed?
And what means full speed? In one round you can perform two move actions. If you speed is 30 fts it is means that you move 60 fts by round for full speed and 30 for half-speed? And for 2 move actions in one round have you make two Move Silently checks?

Thanks

I don't understand exactly what you mean Vasiliy. If you're asking how many checks you make, it should be just one. Since it takes 1 year to "rear a wild animal", you must spend six months trying, then, when six months is complete, you make the check (DC 15 + HD, PHB 3.0), and if the check succeeds, you can now spend the rest of your time finishing the job successfully. If you fail, you cannot rear or train the animal.

2.For Move Silently skill you take -5 penalty for speed greater than one-half but less than full, -20 for running or charging. But what is the penalty for full speed?

Actually, moving your full speed is a -5 penalty as well...you take a -5 penalty for speed greater than one half up to full speed, according to the PHB 3.0 page 71.

Full speed refers to your normal movement rate adjusted for armor or anything else. So the standard movement of a human would be 30, and a halfling would be 20.

I did not see "1 year" in the PHB. Where it is?

And what about 2 move actions in one round?

I did not see "1 year" in the PHB. Where it is?

It lists it right after the chart on DCs in the 3.0 PHB. I don't see it in the 3.5 PHB, so they must have forgotten to carry it over. Check the SRD 3.0 if you can find it.

And what about 2 move actions in one round?

When dealing with rounds, you're dealing with combat or spells/spell effects that have a duration. If someone is generally sneaking, a single roll will be fine unless you determine for some reason that other rolls need to be made (ie. they went from paved stone to crunchy leaves). If someone is moving in combat and trying to be silent, and all they are doing is moving, one roll should suffice for each round total that they attempt to move silently (again, unless you determine that some aspect changes and the roll needs to be done after a specific distance is covered).

Make sense?

In other words, double move is a full round action. As it is one action only, you roll only once.

In the PHB 3.5 it is "greate than one-half but LESS than your full speed". Is it error or change? I think it's error.

What is the SRD?

Will you inform WotC about these errors in PHB?

Hi Vasiliy,

The SRD (Systems Reference Document) is an online resource that WotC has allowed as a good will gesture and to make it possible for third parties to create works consistant with their standard, all under their aegesis. It is the single most valuable resource I've found as a DM for 3.x edition D&D. Below is a link to the Hypertext SRD, my favorite of them for it's speed and ease of use, turned specificly to the page in question.

Good luck,

Thanks

But it's link for 3.5 version. Where I can found 3.0 version?
