OKay, first, energy adaptation, you can do as an immediate action... When/what exactly does a player know before he must declare that hes using it... Example senerio. a wizard casts fireball, a little red dot streaks outs hits a point, blows up, fire engulfs psion, psion takes dmg.

at what point would u call for the immediate action? a psion probably doesnt have spell craft so he cant ID the fireball and know to put up energy adatption. now i figure it happens between the blowing up and red flames start coming toward you, or just as you feel the heat (though im inclined to say right before the flames hit you, or a red ray hits you as in scrotching ray, etc).

Also, at what point does it become metagaming? Say you never been hit with a fireball, but you see a red streak, or whatever.. odds are its fire, blue its probably cold or lighting, etc.

Next question concerns the energy adapation itself. the specified im fine with (though 4 power points for immediate action has me a bit confused, 2 pp less than a quickened power, and immediate is definetly better than swift action.) but its the better version the normal energy adaptation. at lvl 4 power you get resist all. so at lvl 7 you resist all, and by lvl 11 you can do it as an immediate action. i really havnt found a magic version similar to a resist all forms of elemental damage, so it might just be but is this too powerful? the only thing i see the resist energy has vs the psionic version is the fact that the incresae in resist come two levels later (lvl 7 magic, lvl 9 psionic for 20 reist, and lvl 11 magic/13 psionic for 30 resist).

so my question is... would it be that harmful to just get rid of the greater version of energy adapation (probably replace it with the a form of protection from energy, lvl 3 power and just lose the lvl 4 power of energy adapation)?

Generally for immediate action - after the attack rolls is made before the damage roll.
