Poruka svim mojim igracima NE CITAJ DALJE, OZBILJNO VAM KAZEM!!!

I found an old 2ed advanture and liked it so much I decided to run it for my group, ok so I bought it by mistake lets not nit pick.
Now I can use most of what I found in there from the descriptions, what I need help with is making figuring out the balance of the two key NPCs.
They are two wizzards of quite significant power. In the sotory on of them is a 31st lvl lich who got striped of half his power that was tranfered to his enemy who was an 8th lvl fighter. Acording to their statistics they are now a 20th lvl lich wizard and a wiz20/fig8 humans, and the adventure is suposed to be for 4 8-12 lvl charectars  Is it just me or is something wrong this the setup. Granted the charectars get some pretty strong items to use against the NPCs from some of the encounters on their trip to the location of the final encounter but still two 20th lvl wizards even if they are enemies against a party of 4 7th-9th lvl charactes.

If any of you out-there who played 2ed adventure "Castel Spullzeer" please come forward and help me out since my knowledge of 2ed rules is limited to what I rememeber from Baldurs gate and Icewind dale.

Since the original lich is wiz31, why not make them wiz16 and wiz15/ftr8? This at least makes their spells more manageable for a level 12 party.
