3.0 Shapechanger Type. What is it in 3.5? [Archive] - Wizards Community

08-18-06, 09:28 AM Ok, in a few of the 3rd ed books (Specifically in this case, the Monsters of Faerun book), there are creatures with the type - Shapechanger.
In 3.5 (I'm 99% sure) Shapechanger is a Subtype.
How do you convert one to the other?

08-18-06, 09:49 AM To go from 3.0 to 3.5, assign the creature a type based on its natural form and then add the [Shapechanger] subtype to it. Most shapechangers are humanoids (like lycanthropes) or monstrous humanoids (like doppelgangers), but other types are possible.

To go from 3.5 to 3.0, discard the creature's type (possibly keeping all subtypes except Shapchanger) and give it the Shapechanger type instead.
