| illenvillen2312-02-04, 07:51 PM | I've been running a 3.5e campaign for a while now and I wnat to expand the game to new areas of play but I'm not sure which books are for the 3.5 rule edition. COuld someone please tell me the names of all the 3.5 books so I can make a choice as to which one(s) I will expand into. Thanks. |
| SearcherOmega12-02-04, 08:32 PM | On the inside page (immediately before the table of contents), most 3.5 books have a line that says "This product uses updated material from the v 3.5 revision." However, not all 3.5 books have this for some reason (Complete Warrior, or my copy of it, doesn't), so this should be taken with a grain of salt. With that said, many 3.0 books are easily compatable with 3.5. Change any references to "Pick Pocket" with "Sleight of Hand", and replace DR/+1 with DR/Magic, higher than +1 DRs should probably be relaced with sensible DRs at the DM's discression. |

| illenvillen2312-03-04, 12:02 AM | No i meant like "areas" of play like introducing epic NPCs they can fight along side of, or new dragons to face, or new creatures to see, jsut new material...I don' have a book store that sells D&D books near me so I ahev to order htem online and most odn't haev an option of seeing the 3.5 edition i jsut wanted like a place to see a list of the books. OR have someone list them here. So far I found the MM3 and Complete Divine were 3.5. |
| Board_Rider12-03-04, 12:20 AM | There are some here (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/listmania/list-browse/-/3QMZ6KXH20O9W/103-7849546-0507003). Remeber that there isn't really that big of difference between 3.5 and 3.0. Especially if all you are looking for is color. Some More (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/listmania/list-browse/-/1UD9YH4IQ8AI8/qid=1102051153/sr=5-3/ref=sr_5_3/103-7849546-0507003) Unfortunately I don't know of every 3.5 book. Hopefully this will help. |
| Wayne12-03-04, 01:50 AM | Well, let's see.... 3.5 Core books (PHB, DMG, MM) "Complete" Series: Complete Warrior, Complete Divine, Complete Arcane Forgotten Realms: Player's Guide to Faerun, Shining South Quasi-3.5 books: Book of Exalted Deeds (uses incomplete 3.5 ruleset, but is largely correct), Fiend Folio (uses a mixture of 3.0 and 3.5 rules); some people include Savage Species here Setting-specific books: Frostburn, Eberron Campaign Setting (and Sharn), Planar Handbook Creature-specific books: Libris Mortis, Draconomicon, Races of Stone Supplements: Expanded Psionics Handbook, Monster Manual 3, Miniatures Handbook, Unearthed Arcana That's all I can think of at the moment. Hope that helps. :] |
| illenvillen2312-03-04, 04:04 AM | Thanks you very much |
| DireSpork12-03-04, 09:14 AM | The 3.5 campain books our group is using right now is all the complete books +Unearther Arcana,Arms and Equipment guide, and the Draconmicon. The Wizards of the coast websight has 3.5 updates for some books. Also if your looking for Epic level rules the DMG has thoose as well. |
| Wayne12-03-04, 09:34 AM | Thanks you very much No problem. :] Spork mentioned the 3.5 Update book, which I forgot about. You can download it here (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/dnd/20030718a) if you don't already have it. He also mentioned the Arms & Equipment Guide, and while that is 3.0, it's an equipment book; so it works just fine in 3.5 (with a couple of exceptions-- the Halberd of Vaulting-- a pretty awesome toy, actually :D-- grants I think a +30 to Jump, which would cost several times the entire price of the weapon in 3.5 (90000gp; the original weapon cost 21000!)!). In general, if you reproduce the weapon with the pricing guidelines in the 3.5 DMG, you should be fine. (Keep in mind that the A&EG makes liberal use of the price reductions for "multiple similar abilities" or "skill/alignment requirements," which makes them cheaper than comparable weapons would be. That's not a bad thing, but it's something to look out for.) |
