Probably a dumb question but...in the game I am running, I play a Human Wizard5/Dragon Disciple 1 (Using Tomb and Blood version, and d10 hit dice). His family was taken from him by the Cult of the Dragon (Pool of Radiance game) and he has sworn revenge on them and to save his wife and child. His god, Bahumut heard his plea of anguish and 'blessed' him with discipleship.

Question is-the char is the only arcane user in the group (got 3rd level spells-took Invisibility and Fireball). I'm working on him becoming a melee wizard at later levels.

Level 2 of Disciple boosts my strength, gives claws/bite (3 natural attacks) +7/+7/+2, boosts fort/will/bab and gives a bonus spell slot.

Wizard 6 would give me 2 new spells, a additional spell of 2nd and 3rd I could cast per day, bab I believe goes up, as well as will (possibly another save).

If I go with the Disciple-the char is a bit of a force to be reckoned with (I max out hp for npcs-the wizards would be 47, AC of up to 25-ring of protection +1, mage armor, shield, haste, natural armor +1, dex +4), 3 attacks w/claws and bite) If I went wizard, AC can get up to 25, a dagger +1 attack /but/ 2 new spells and more casting a day.

The group has a Human Paladin of Heironeus (7), a Human Fighter (7), and Elf Rogue (7) and possibly a Human Ranger or Scout (7). Definatly have the melee side down and need more arcane, yet...the Disciple is fed up. He wants to rip into the enemies (aka find his wife and son or die trying) and the group is currently sleeping in a barn a few days from the cult hideout, protecting a child who is in a coma (Trolls killed his family, group saved him, wizard is very protective over him for obvious reasons).....

And I pondered revamping the char a bit..and reworking a new 'Disciple' class to make it feel well...more..draconic and dragon like (I have the Draconomicon and Complete Arcane and made a post bout the Dragon Disciple. Got some interesting feedback..some ways it is sorta broken, others it isn't...hmm..)

Obviosly the arcane caster level is best for the party. The dragon level might make you better at chewing on the badguys personely....

The question to ask, is it more important to get them back, or feel your enemys blood???

Getting them back would be more important to the wizard. His family is his life (and of course since he can go invisible-he carries the coma kid, fastest way to keep the kid safe). Fighter and Paladin deal with the baddies, Rogue hides and keeps a eye on things. I think the wizard can cast while carrying the kid...dunno...hmm. Definatly adds to the rp as they have a innocent to protect now...

I'll probably go with Wizard 6/Disciple 1. Now need to pick some good spells (Invisibility and Fireball at 5th definatly were good choices). And go Disciple 2 at level 8.

Well gonna have the NPC be: Human Wizard 6/Disciple 1. Any ideas for 2 spells recieved when taking Wizard 6? I already took Invisibility and Fireball (planning on having the char go Archmage possibly once Disciple is done if he lives that long). Basically, he's a fighting mage (Using the Tomb and Blood Disciple though...I really want to make a Disciple thats...more..Draconic..any ideas?)
