| Malzizipox02-26-07, 12:13 PM | a few quick questions-- Your leadership score is lower if you have a familiar or special mount. What's the rationale behind this? Will cohorts craft magic items for the characters they follow? Do cohorts / followers buy their own gear? Or do PCs have to buy it for them? If cohorts have their own resources, how readily should they give it up to the PCs? Are there any good threads of FAQs or whatever about Leadership? I've done a bit of board research and have had little luck. Thanks! |
| Dire_Rhino02-26-07, 12:19 PM | 1. You've already "bonded" with something, so you have less time to spend with your significant other (er, cohort.) 2. I'd rule No, unless they charged the PC gold for the exp they lost. YMMV. 3. They start with NPC Wealth by Level, then take a half share of EXP and gold from encounters. Giving up wealth is up to you, and I'd make it depend on the cohort - PC relationship. Also, I don't think they'd want to go under the NPC Wealth by Level guidelines (in essence, getting poorer by going adventuring). 4. Can't help you there. Try Google searching the boards. |
| Puca02-26-07, 12:46 PM | Your leadership score is lower if you have a familiar or special mount. What's the rationale behind this? They dont give a rationale. Its just there. Personally, Ive always thought of it like Dire_Rino said. Will cohorts craft magic items for the characters they follow? There is nothing preventing them from doing so. Your cohort is a guy who decided that what he really wants to do in life is serve you. If crafting items is the best way to serve you, then thats what he wants to do. A character cannot spent so much xp that they drop a level. This limiting factor will keep it balanced, especially considering they earn a fraction of the xp that you do. If you treat your cohort badly, and treating them like your own little xp account might qualify, your leadership score falls. Do cohorts / followers buy their own gear? Or do PCs have to buy it for them? If cohorts have their own resources, how readily should they give it up to the PCs?What Dire_Rino said: they come to you will gear appropriate to their level. Everything after that comes from you, one way or another. Again, shafting them not only makes them less likely to live, it could also negatively impact your leadership score. Are there any good threads of FAQs or whatever about Leadership? I've done a bit of board research and have had little luck. There are a lot of threads.
