OK first let me set things up for you. The party was at a town festival what goblinoids attacked. After the fight the PCs found out that the attacks happen about once or twice a month (unless the town pays the gobbys lots o moneys) and that the leader of the goblinoids is supposedly an ettin living in the ruined temple a few miles out of town. They go there to find that the goblinoids here are all fiendish and seem to be gathering an army and have been using the money they got from the town and other towns like it to buy weapons and such.

Now here is my problem i have a room in their base that is empty because i ran out of ideas. I have enough fights and traps ready for the PCs so i want this to be more like a RP/diplomacy type encounter but i can't for the life of me figure out what to put in this room plz plz plz give me some ideas.

KTHNX ^.^

PS i should probably add that this room is after a puzzle room that none of the fiendish gobbys have gone past so this will also (hopefully) be a place that the PCs can rest and regain spells and such.

Prisoners! Nothing raises tempers like trying to decide what to do with a mess of prisoners. Some less scrupulous ones will suggest killing them, some will say set them free and let them get home on the own, some still will set them free and escort them (providing all sorts of great combat opportunities!).

1. Goblin defector. One of the goblins is not happy with the current regime and wants to help the PCs in exchange for his freedom.

2. Trapped demon/devil. He is being held by the goblins who use him for a source of power, and he wants to be freed. He tries to bribe and/or trick the PCs into freeing him.

3. Doppleganger spy. He is working for the goblins, and being the savvy guy he is, he disguises himself as a prisoner and stabs them in the back when they're vulnerable.

4. Mercenaries for hire. They were hired by the goblins to fight in their army, but are willing to be convinced to fight for the PCs or to turn their back on the goblins.

5) A single orc and his pie (http://www.ptolus.com/cgi-bin/page.cgi?otherd20_orcandpie). All he wants to do is eat his lunch in peace. Maybe he'll share?

6) Kobold prisoners. The goblinoids have also been at odds with the local kobold population. Perhaps they could be convinced to aid the PC's.
