A little Unsure if I should have posted it here or somwhere else, if I posted it here and I was not supposed to I am sorry :(

I am creating a Dungeons & Dragons world much like forgotten realms or Greyhawk but I need help, I am stuck on the creation of deties. My world is I guess going to be a mix of the Celtic, Norse, and brttanic pantheons, and cultures. I was wondering is it possible deities from these other pantheons find their way into my world i'm creating? :D if so how? and is there people here that can also help me make up deities and flesh them out? :) thank you in advance  The world is more based upon drudic arts and the barbarians of the north kind of thing wizards and sorcerers are around just during time when the world still clings to the old druidic arts oaths and beliefs.

If your set on haveing "historical" pantheons go pick up dieties and demigods. Even though it is 3rd ed (not 3.5) it is still invaluable for Norse or Pharonic pantheons. As far as tips for fleshing out a pantheon right now there is a pretty good thread that has lots of ideas in the campain workshop section of the boards. If you need more than that you'll have to start posting details and asking more specific questions.

I recommend finding a copy of Dieties and Demigods. It contains stats for all sorts of Gods (including a few of Earth's pantheons) and a fairly detailed system for creating pantheons of your own. Seems like it's just the thing for you.

Why do they need to find their way in? Why can't they just exist as those cultures' (or their equivilents) deities?

The player characters are inside the box, they don't see out, so you don't need to explain to them why their 'native' gods appear elsewhere. Now if you were doing a 'create a modern character and port it to an alternate world' type campaign, thyat's a different kettle of marine swimming organisms ....

If you want an "explanation", in the Forgotten Realms some deities arose naturally on Faerun but some came from other "crystal spheres" (material planes/dimensions). They migrated with their races, such as when elves moved to the Forgotten Realms they brought Corellan and the rest of the elven gods with them. The gods exist in both their original worlds and the new worlds as different "aspects" (I think they called it something else) so it is like a carbon copy of the gods just moved.

The Mulhorandi pantheon in the FR is based on mostly Egyptian gods, and it is implied that they came from another world (probably Earth).
