Well one of my players wants to play a awakened fly. Now I don't really have a problem with this other then finding stats and how long flies live. Does anyone know where I could find stats for a fly? Yes I know it's weird but it could be interesting role play wise.

Uh:

Fine-sized
Fly 50'
Str 1, Dex 20, Con 10

...that is, stat-wise, all that you really need.

Fly poorly, average, good, perfect? Would there be some sort of HD or LA? Thanks.

Some species of flies have a lifespan measured in hours.
Good luck with the age adjustments. :)

OMG-- that's a scary thought, a species of flies with intelligence... they're annoying enough as it is.

I've seen the fly ruled as having base stats identical to a sparrow, except that it is fine sized.

Where would I find Sparrow stats?

I believe flies only live for about 24 hours

Actually they live around 1-2 months not really a long time but it should be interesting.

Sparrows are Fine-sized as it is. They are in Oriental Adventures.

Oh, and I should have added above: they would have (good) manuverability.

You're right for the size in the Oriental Adventures sparrow. I cannot remember where the article that I'm thinking of was, but it had a statted out sparrow listed as a familiar that was tiny size.

Considering that I can't even remember where this was from, you will probably be better off sticking with the Oriental Adventures sparrow. :P

I find the idea intriguing.

I suggest having them be small sized (a sort of giant fly,) rather than fine. I foresee all sorts of problems with a fine sized creature. (any sort of combat, although it could make some cool Aid Another moments.)

As I recall the Ebony Fly has stats similar to a griffon, minus the natural attacks.
It shouldn't be too hard to take a grifffon, remove the racial HD and reduce size to small (including the size change stat modifiers)
I'd probably call it LA +1 or +2 depending on final fly speed and stat adjustments.

Suggest that instead of playing a single fly, they play a Fly Swarm or Hive

(Yes, I know, flies are not really social creatures)

But at least that would allow some longevity and the ability to interact with the environment in interesting ways.
The fly swarm could mass together and take on a shape, or it could disperse to escape/slither under a door.

Oh, and just make up stats that won't unbalance the game.

Well this just got weirder... Now one wants to play a half dragon orange.. This is kind of getting stupid but, I'll go with it I guess. Time to stat out a orange..

Well so far this party consists of a Half Dragon Orange, Fly, Some Deadite Slayer that has a chainsaw for a arm and shotgun for the other I believe. Still two other characters to be decided..

Well I don't know what's it based from but it's a class from the boards.

It's from Evil Dead. The main character is Ash, a guy with a chainsaw for an arm and a sawn-off shotgun which he uses in the other. Sound familiar? Remember, Wikipedia is your friend.
