Hey all, A quick question. Can clerics turn demons and devils as they do undead? Our game is tonight and I don't have the time to scour the books looking for the rule on this for 3.5. I remember in 2nd edition there was an optional rule that came out allowing for this. Probably in a dragon mag. Heck I seem to recall there was an optional rule that allowed evil clerics to turn paladins too in one of the dragon mag. But I digress. Any help would be appreciated :)

Not in the core rules, I believe. Having had a quick scan I can't see anything that suggests you can (not even under the special domain powers).

There is an epic feat that allows turning of outsiders. There is also a variant rule which allows you to trade turning undead for turning outsiders. (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/variant/classes/classFeatureVariants.htm#turningUndeadVa riantPlanarBanishment) I might suggest that they be made max out their knowledge(planes) at least at 1st level

Okay thanks :) I;ve got a 5th level dwarven cleric of clangeddan in the party I am dming for and they are probably going to run into an abishai tonight. I couldn't remember if the cleric could turn him or the lemures he will be summoning. Thanks again.
