So, for the next adventure in the campaign I'm running, I want to do something a bit different. The party is currently on another plane, and need to get to a desert city on the Prime Material plane. Now, while the simple thing to do would be to have their ride (long story) drop them off there, but I want to try something new. So, what I was thinking was to have them be dropped off at the edge of the desert, and have to catch a fast caravan to the city. (note: I don't have quick access Sandstorm or whatever the desert book is).

Now, while I like the caravan idea, I need some ideas on how to do the fight. I have a dry-erase board with a grid on it for fights, a bunch of cardboard and tons of time, but I don't think my casual group wants complex rules. Any ideas?

Oh, and for what it's worth, the party has: a level 11 warlock, a level 11 druid (with both the PHB II varients), a level 11 warblade, a level 11 sorcerer/frost mage, and a level 11 swordsage (the last two with LA+1 races I judged weak enough not to have major bearing on the character power level. An uldra and a tiefling).

Are they fighting to get on the caravan or are you looking for how to do the fights once they're there? With that info it'd be easier to help you :)

...and TIME at 7 minutes, ??? seconds.

sorry.

They are on the caravan and defending it as it moves at speed.

oh, and I like your sig, Nightside.

What I would do is give them benefits for having elevation on their attackers and have them make Balance checks every time they move on the top of the wagon.

Archery would be of paramount importance since getting close for melee would be very difficult to do IMO

Thank you :D
