| Latro08-25-06, 03:29 PM | I've been looking for a list of first and last names to use in my D&D campaign (Forgotten Realms) ... but all I have found so far are generators that give me very funky Viking, FInnish and other exotic names. I'm pretty sure there must be some lists/generators out there that can give me more common names ... but I can't find them! ... help? :( |

It allows you to select different origins, male, female, first, last. etc. There are enough customization options that you can get just about any type of name you want out of it. This is the resource I use when I'm trying to come up with names. |

| ATynam08-26-06, 10:38 AM | Gotta be honest, I just break down the names in the FRCS book (p12) and rebuild them. Most of the names have obvious front and end sections. A brief example for Chondathan Male names would give: Dorvin, Gorvin, Grivin, Helvin, Malvin, Morvin, Ranvin, Stevin. And once you see the names you start to get a feel for the kind of contempary names you can use as well. Alzhedo has a heavy Arabic influence, Damaran has a Russian influence while Chessentan is Greek. |
