A simple treasure Question [Archive] - Wizards Community

09-28-06, 07:47 PM I just have a quick question regarding how to price this "challenging" treasure:
Animated large granite statue covered with jade scalemail with gold trim. I'm sadly unsure how to find out the exact price for this and I'd like some input from y'all, though I think it might be in the 3,000-5,000 gp range.

09-28-06, 08:12 PM dude im not much of a dm ( i have only been at it for 3 weeks) but i have read and re read the books and i think that 6k might be more what your looking for ( im not good with numbers so i know its around 6500 or something sry)

09-28-06, 08:12 PM The granite has nearly no value unless it is well carved. The jade scalemail...I am assuming that the entire outfit is not literally made of jade but instead garnished with them. And for the gold trim, pretty much add about 300g to the price. My total estimate would be about what you have, 4000g on average, give or take a few for how well you can barter it to the local art museum. If the statue is animated, you would probably have to kill it and thus damage it extensively, possibly making only the jade and gold valuable as materials instead of art.
