I'm going to be running an adventure where the PC's have to protect a caravan taking supplies to an army stuck in the middle of a forest in the winter.

The thing is their NPC guide a Goblin ranger is a werewolf(with a wolf animal companion - that allows him to sneak up and bite people then blame his pet) and the only help is a Treant made by an Elf Druid who's deathly afraid to fight the werewolf(Werewolf is CR 18) and is reclusive, grumpy, somewhat world weary - depressed(he/she/it did not get recognition for past good deeds).

Idea's on how to run this thing - specifically how to find and speak w/ the Treant + how to fight the werewolf and protect the merchants.

One complication - the elf rangeress has a wolf animal companion too so the Gobbo Werewolf might attempt to blame her pet and make the group hate her. PC's are Lvs 14-16.

Is there a Pally or cleric to detect evil? Also can true seeing show what a lycanthrope is when he is in humanoid form?

The wolf ducked but the treant couldn't. :rimshot:

Yes there's a Pally + some Clerics: The Goblin NPC/BBEG Werewolf fellow has the Amulet of Proof against Detection and Location.
