How does Inspire Courage affects attacks (in this case, an incorpreal touch) that deal ability damage (1d4 Charisma)? Would the attack do 1d4+x Charisma damage? Or would it cause 1d4 Cha and x hit points damage? Would a sneak attack deal 1d4+xd6 Charisma or 1d4 Cha and xd6 hit point damage? Or would it deal regular damage in both situations?

If I remember correctly...

The inspire courage would do nothing, since it only improves attacks that do hp dmg in the first place (though it would increase the 'to hit' roll)

For a sneak attack it would be 1d4cha + Xd6hp damage.

Also, if it matters, inspire courage is a morale effect, so if wouldn't help a ghost/shadow/etc. anyway.

Thanks.

It was a Joystealer, so it was a fey. It didn't matter to much, since they tore the pour hobgoblin to pieces without the extra damage (though the to-hit was nice).

Okay, if a joystealer with sneak attack is affected by inspire courage, then the bonus damage does apply (on a sneak attack), right?

I believe so.
