Abyss... some help plz [Archive] - Wizards Community

07-26-03, 09:47 AM How would one rescue a soul from the abyss? If there is no body or remains left and you brought the soul back to the material plane wouldn't it just become a ghost?

No suggstions at all?

07-26-03, 01:01 PM Well, I have an idea that might be useful. There is an Arcane spell called Trap The Soul. You trap someone's soul inside of a gem worth 1,000 gold coin for every HD the target has. From there you could free the soul in another plane.

I think you are right about freeing it in the Material Plane and it becoming a ghost, wraith, or some other sort of incorporeal. But, if you let the soul go in the domain of their deity, then you could travel back to the Material Plane and Ressurect them into their original body.

It's a lot of work, since you would have to find the soul to even get to the rest, but if you really need this person it will all be worth it. It's also a good plot hook for one.

08-25-03, 03:49 AM On topic, perhaps trap the soul (and they can fail their save automatically if they want) followed by true resurrection or reincarnate would do the trick.
