RAW = Rules As Written
BBEG = Big Bad Evil Guy
RP = roleplay
PC = Player Character
CV = Complete Adventurer
CA = Complete Arcane
CD = Complete Divine
FRCS = Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting
LB = Libre Mortis
BoVD = Book of Vile Darkness
BoED = Book of Exalted Deeds
UA = Unearthed Arcana

Last, but not least:
L33Ter = Someone that cannot stand the fact that others can enjoy the numerical aspects of the game along with the roleplaying aspects of it. This is usually someone that foams at the mouth and yell "MUNCHKIN!!!" at the drop of a hat. Ironically, these are also the same people that are proud of how LOW their stats are. This is ironic because that proves that they themselves are as focused on numbers as those upon whom they heap contempt, only in a different way.

You are obviously new to message boards, since you are trying to use chat-speak here. I have corrected your post. Please use English, or a reasonable approximation in the future.

As for the acronyms, there are two other posts in the last two days that ask exactly the same question. Looking over the recent threads would have saved you from this embarrassing post. Other things to learn about message boards are how to search them (the in-board search is down, but Google still works on these boards) and how to use stickied posts. Either one could answer your questions with ease.

To help you with your education, I will say simply to look through the commonly used threads sticky and find Trollbill's Glossary. If, after that, you are unable to find the answers you seek, you could try reading the posts more carefully and look for clues though the context of the messages.

I'm sorry, but I have had to read far too many posts that are written at a level far below my 10-year-old's vocabulary level this week, and am getting tired of answering the same eight questions two, three, or four times every week. :banghead:

I'm sorry, but if you are tired of answereing the questions then you can simply let someone else answere them. I use these posts so I can learn things, not be lectured about my vocabulary. If you have a problem, dont read my posts. I am sorry that I havn't been able to find any others, but the search is down so I decided to make this post and delete it after I find what I needed.

P.S If you have seen many posts without proper spelling and simple chat lingo, then maybe THAT is the way the posts are used. If people can read it and reply, then I believe the language has gotten it's point across. Thank you for the advice.

P.P.S I am not at all embarrassed to ask a question that I want an answere for. I believe that to be embarrassed is to think that you must be the smartest person in the world and know everything automatically.

Check out TrollBill's Dictionary of Terminology (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=46916). It hasn't been updated in a while, but most of the terms you find on these boards are there. Section 2 has a listing of Acronyms.

Just don't post in it. Eventually it will die off.

I don't think he was trying to rant, as much as he was trying to help you (though he did rant...)

He explained that 90% of the GOOD posters on this board, who know how to run a good campaign and can help you with problems such as this will not read a post that says "i nede hlp plz" but would rather read one entitled "I need help, please".

If I open up a post that has typing like that demonstrated by you, 9 times out of 10 I will just hit back. This is the one time I was bored enough to actually read it.

If you want a serious answer, from respectable sources, then I highly suggest keeping the typing system that has been suggested, as you have for your latter posts. People will think much more highly of you if they see good typing skills.

P.S. I actually went up and checked because I didn't believe that your typing went from "im new" and "plz" to "I'm sorry," with proper comma placing, and grammer. I was impressed, and I doubt it took more than a few seconds. :-) Kudos to you.

P.S.S. (Answer, not answere) Not to be nit-picky ;-)

And no, we arn't just being perfectionists, we are attempting to help you. I'm sure you will be fine on these boards. You are not the only one I've seen type like that, but you are the only one I've seen make such a dramatic improvement so quickly.

Again, Kudos.

Thanks. I'm sorry I annoyed you guys. I just use the chat-type stuff alot with my friends because they don't care. I know how to use correct grammer and spelling (well, maybe not spelling) but I just often don't take the time to.

I don't mean to snarky with you, necessarily. Yours is actually one of the more legible posts written in chat-speak that I've seen recently. The point of ranting here is that this is the type of question that is likely to attract the attention of the newer members of these boards. As such, I wish to "nip in the bud" post by these newcomers that are wholly unintelligible.

Chat-speak is great in rooms where all those participating are assumed to speak the same language and where one is trying to type as cloxse to real-time as possible. On the boards, though, lack of capitalization and punctuation make posts difficult to read. Line breaks are even more important. Since so many users of these boards don't claim English as their primary language, spelling and grammar, while nice, aren't really expected.

And, of course, with hundreds of new members every week, if a few dozen of them see my rant and look in the FAQ or Important Threads stickies rather than ask the same questions over and over, it will make the boards that much "cleaner".

I didn't mean to attack you. It was late, I was tired, and I had actually seen a post just like this earlier in the day. It probably didn't help that you posted in the DM's area rather than in the general questions area. (That I will have to say "naughty, naughty" to...) I do, however, apologize! For what it's worth, your second post was much better!! ;)
