| Denihilist09-08-07, 08:53 AM | My players wanted a more powerful encounter for a one-shot we were planning, and I wanted to given them a bonus that still allows each person an measure of individuality. I was thinking of having the player's (if they want to) use some of their skill points to enhance their PCs combat/defensive capabilities. For Example: 2 skill points = +1 to either attack or damage (player's choice) What do you think? Would it work in a regular campaign? I still haven't figured out what to do for the spellcasters to even things out. Any help would be appreciated. |

Rogues would now own combat and make fighters cry even more. + to hit is worth more than + to damage in any case Its a one shot adventure though so you can pretty much do what you want, and it wont matter that much. But i dont think it would ever work for a campaign where there would be long term effects. It would make AC obsolete pretty quickly. |

It'd probably be more useful in a long campaign than a one-shot, but maybe you've got an adventuring party of trivia nerds who get +1 to attack on ten attacks because they maxed ranks in ten knowledge skills. |
