I'm sarting a new campaign
and it starts with a bunch of Giberlings that have mysteriously started appearing in the area around town

I plan to have the lead to them Town Hall(or something like that)
Where they will be briefed and that they will be paid yada yada yad
I'd like to have a full multi session adventure
from 1st level to 3rd-6th

I'm not asking for full details for an adventure
just little tips that keep my campaign going

You need to figure out these things then:

1. What the players are doing there. (hired to begin with, lured by rumors, etc)

2. have some idea of how the players find out about the gibberlings. Wide eyed frightened travellers often do the trick.

3. Figure out what their appearance in the area means.

you can allways start with a mystery. Travelers got attacked, a dead body is found, ...

Who are the PC's? some local kids? some hired adventurers? some travelers who got attacked?

Why are the creatures there? did someone else take over the forest they lived in so they had to move closer to society? is there an over population? did someone set them free in that area to take some sort of advantage?

Maybe you can add some side quest to the adventure. an old woman tells the Pc's about a haunted crypt. maybe the ghosts are mad at the villagers for some reason?

Add some flavor to some NPC's. The local wise men, a druid, chief guard, ...

What I mean is
during the adventure
what possible scenery, NPC's etc

They'll end up back in this town soon after
with another adventure more key to the storyline

Gibberings are fun. They were the second andventure I ever ran.

Anyways you'll want to send them underground. That's where the gibberings are scary.

Use the threat of an infinet hoard of gibberings in the depths to create tension and suspense, but don't throw a swarm of 20 at them right off the bat.

As for what they encounter- think zombie movies, where people are holed up in shelters and whatnot. Gibberins are a swarm and an infestation, just like zombies, so that is a good guideline.

Maby have some intelegent subterrainian humanoids struggling with the gibberings too (Goblins, Orcs, Hobgoblins, Drow, Dwarves), especialy if you feal you might want to lead into a larger plot involving that race.

Combigning the two ideas can be fun. Have some goblins defending a barricaded room. The swarm is aproaching and the players need to get in. They will have to either break in (and compremise the defensibility of the room) or convince the goblins to let them in, which gets you into more role playing rather than bashing everything that moves. Plus then you might have the goblins betray the players at some point. All very fun.

Lastly have a good climax. Your starting a new campiegn, you want it to start with a bang, so have stupid number of gibberins for the climax and some explosions.

If you feel like being evil or lengthening the adventure (or just adding that extra sense of urgency to the matter) cut them off by having the tunnel cave in behind them or someting of that nature. If you want to avoid having them rest everywhere have suprise attacks, or just make it so that they start at sunrise and need to root the gibbering out before they get to the town, and time the whole thing.

Just afew ideas.

Town NPCs that will recur include shopkeeper(s), smith(s), mayor, town councilmember(s), high priest(s), innkeeper(s), sheriff, etc.

Your PCs will no doubt find one or two that they make recurring, so be prepared to run with that.

It really depends on how large a town you are planning to run. A small town only requires one or two of each of the above. A larger town necessitates many of the above.

Map of the town, perhaps an opportunity to buy/rent/build a house if they don't want to live in a tavern.

I was going that way with it
but I was gonna make out that this was just there first adventure
but at a later level where they could be fighting off possibly hundreds

as with the race fighting them off
I was gonna go wit Orcs
a forced alliance

1 question.
I the book it says there the army of the Underdark
what actually leads them?

Anytime...
