| sblaxman04-22-08, 01:33 PM | Hey all, I'm working on converting a bunch of my home-made adventures into pdf (pencil fades, papers vanish)... I have two questions... 1) I want to group them into size categories. I could go w/ something like small/med/large, but wanted something a little more interesting and I'm drawing blanks.. What I got is Mission: short quests, typically 1-2 days (in game time). Single goal (clear a dungeon, kill an assassin, recover something from a tomb). Mostly low level things (since they cannot survive long missions) Adventure: Mid-length. Usually at least 2 locations. 1-3 weeks "character time". ex: find and rescue a captive, cleanse a haunted castle, Recover a relic from the heart of an evil temple. Quest: Long. Multiple locations, branching story. 1-2 months character time. ex: Uncover a plot to assassinate the king, defeat the necromancer and his undead army, reverse a curse placed on a family 2 generations ago. Do those make sense? Any suggestions on other more appropriate labels I could use? Question 2 (semi related)... Are there any websites (WotC or otherwise) where one could UL/DL adventures for peer review/sharing? I would think there has to be, but I don't know of any. Thanks |

In a pinch, if I need to run an adventure, I will ask people, "Do you want to play in a city or out in the boonies?" before I ask them how long they want to play. |
