| brainsplitter01-12-05, 08:00 PM | Heya, ive just got this idea which i think is good for a lvl 5 adventure/campaign but i want other peoples opinions/ideas on it, ill just give a brief overview though because this adventure is planned to take them to lvl 13 (or at least 10), its a 6 person party to if it changes anything Stuff to know... party consists of - Dwarf Ftr4/Art1, Human Ftr5, Elf Sor5, Elf Rgr5, Half-Elf Mnk5, Elf Rog4(about 100xp fromlvl 5) campaign setting>Ebberon (with slight mods) The party is currently in the city of Sharn (a metropolis) and are alerted to an evil discovery a large organisation has constructed a large base in the centreof the main continent, but has been hidden by various illusion spells, but has been discovered by some people (i still havent got the details done yet) little information is known about what they are doing, but it is definately not the next generation boutique, although there are many different guesses at what is going on, there are a few common theories (sp?) 1 They are attempting to ressurect a long dead person, who has lead great armies against the greatest of cities, and destroyed many a land before being killed in battle (this is what is in fact happening) 2 above person has been ressurected already, and has been forming a head of Operations while making undead and deathless (Eberron) soldiers to destory the people who killed her 3 That there are just making a large army to take over the world etc. and thats as far as ive got |

You need something that immediately threatens the PCs as well as a reason why no one else would be fighting against this great new evil. 1 They are attempting to ressurect a long dead person, who has lead great armies against the greatest of cities, and destroyed many a land before being killed in battle (this is what is in fact happening) WHy in the center of the continent? If Sharn is a big metropolis, why not right in the middle of downtown? THere would be all kinds of corruption and payoffs and assassinations and the like. A threat from inside the city is much better than some crazy place in the middle of nowhere. Or perhaps just one faction of this cult is working out of Sharn, and they attempt to harvest one or more PCs to use their blood/body to assist in the reanimation. Perhaps a select group of people are needed - something like AB- blood type. Beleive me, nothing draws the PCs in quicker than an attempt on their life. The assassins can be tracked back to a warehouse and information therin leads to one or two other cels, and brief snatches of info about what is going on. |

This is in sharn there are numerous elements you could incorporate to make this more interesting. Have the PC's come upon the ring of fire (don't know if you have the Sharn, city of towers suplement, is a moving gladitorial event, illegal activities.) say your BBEG is paying or controlling one of the warriors to go to far and kill the opponents and is using the bodies to create undead for his army and the PC's somehow get involved in the events.... You may even have of the members of the ring of fire approach the pc's seeking assistance in the matter but maintaining that discretion is a must. just a thought... |

Yeah, ill agree it is quite basic, but currently its just a basic outline, it'll get much more detailed. i like the Fire ring idea, could i get some more info please, i dont have the book. so yeah, i think ill change it so that its not a case of every one suddenly knows of it, but that the PCs stumble upon it and end up having alot of bad stuff happening around them (like failed assinations etc.) thanks for the ideass thus far |

The Morgrave (IIRC) University in Sharn wants to conduct research on him and how he acts so that they can better understand his tactical decisions in the ancient wars. I mean, a great historical figure has returned to life! Now is the time to question him, or better yet, spy on him. Obviously, all the professors aren't up to the job so they put out a job offer that the PCs may take. |
