Not sure if this applies to this area but I figured it was worth a shot. I was looking for a program that would allow me to layout the text of an adventure similar to that which you'd get when you open but a pre-made adventure. The basic text of the adventure for the DM to read and everything but it also includes the grey box where you'd read aloud to the players what was in the room and what not. Maybe something similar to that.

Hopefully you guys know what I'm talking about, not even sure if it exists. Thanks in advance.

Word or open office would both work if you were a little familiar with either.

If you have more patience than willingness to learn, MS paint can be used to bake up what you're after.

Really, though, to get that professional finish you need a combination of a good word processing program and photoshop.

Microsoft came up with a good one for doing just that, and plenty more, years ago, they called it word.*

edit: Ooh, pipped at the post. Well played sir, well played.
