| Usiris06-05-07, 02:09 AM | I know the game is balanced around a minimum of 4 people, but my players have severe attendance problems due to child rearing, medical problems, inability to plan ahead, or wanting to do something else. I want to run for the people who will be there but 3 characters is tenuous to start. Are there adventures built for 3? If not, does anyone have advice on how to modify existing material for less people? |

You usually won't find adventures built for fewer than 4 PCs. One way to make things a little easier on yourself is to allow the PCs to be a bit more powerful than they should normally be for that level. Let the PCs start at second level, and run them through an adventure intended for 1st level characters. If it's too easy, try them on an adventure intended for second level characters. If it's too hard, give them a little bit of extra loot, and see how that effects the difficulty. Eventually, you should feel it when you hit the sweet spot. |

The only thing you have to look out for, is adventures which require a certain kind of class the party doesn't have. For example, if the party is missing a rogue then don't send them on an adventure with traps only rogues can beat (or run the adventure but replace the traps). |
