| Arakano03-17-04, 03:52 PM | So, my group will soon travel into the orc-held highland region of my Campaign. They are about lvl 6 and send there to investigate what´s going on there (strange rumors arrived in the southern human realm...). Now, what´s going on is the following: Gruumsh is in trouble. A new orcish deity (actually, the son he sired when he raped an female deity of wind/air) is assembling followers to claim Gruumsh´s position as head of the orcish pantheon. The deity is a god of storm and war, CN, domains: air, war, chaos. His chosen champion is Marok Stormblade, an orkish air genasi barbarian who has assembled an faith-inspired elite fighting order (The Stormblades, also a PrC IMC), as well as his followers of the Stormwind Clan. He is also aided by Storm Giants. Against him is the established religious system of Gruumsh-worshipping tribes. The Eyes of Gruumsh, not being able to counter the succesful hit-and-run-tactics of their enemys, and not so rue about the devotion of their subjects, have decided to lead a crusade against the neighboring elven realm, in order to restore the orcs to their former fanatic faith in Gruumsh. (The Orcs were influenced in their decision by human followers of Hextor who plan to launch an simultan invasion against said elven realm, intending on crushing the CG pointy-ears between two fronts...). Now, my question is: What tasks may I assign to my PCs? They are, of course, supposed to ally with the followers of the new orcish deity and to do anything to weaken the followers of Gruumsh (thereby heightening the chances for the survival of the elven kingdom). |

| Arakano03-17-04, 04:06 PM | Well, they will travel through the grassy plains where the barbarian tribes of mixed heritage (orc/human) reside, and where they might get some informations (about the new deity and it´s followers). They will not, however, find out about the crusade without actually getting information from an Eye of Gruumsh. And they´ll probably won´t know about the Hextorites involvement before to late... |

To unite them, an old hierloom or powerful item must be brought back to the tribes. This leads to a dungeon crawl. You can have them fight the denizens of the dungeon, the human/orc party, and maybe an elven party trying to get it to stop the unification. That's a good start. |
