Advice on Insight AC Bonuses... [Archive] - Wizards Community

11-28-04, 12:50 PM I'm using the Book of Exalted Deeds concerning the Saint template. I would like to ask If Insight AC bonuses stack with a Monk's Wisdom AC bonuses since I assume that Insight bonuses also draws from Wisdom bonuses.

11-28-04, 02:50 PM I'd say they stack, because the Monk's AC bonus due to Wisdom isn't named. (By which I mean, it's not called a "dodge" bonus or a "luck" bonus or an "insight" bonus.) Therefore it's an unnamed bonus and stacks not only with named bonuses, but also other unnamed bonuses, like the duelist's canny defense AC bonus (DMG p. 185).

Come to think of it, an aware man is different to the blessed one, and there's a difference between uncanny awareness and divine intervension. :rolleyes:

But if there's a sentence or phrase in the rule book saying saint's insight bonus and monk's insight bonus is pretty much the same and will not stack, PLEEEAAASSEEE inform me :D cause i really missed that spot.
But as of now i think monk's Wis AC bonus is in a way different to the saint's insight bonus...So in my game, i'd say it stacks :)

Not true at all... it is an unnamed bonus. Check the SRD or your PHB again.
The Saint's WIS based insight bonus stacks with the Monk's AC bonus.
