bansheeman 06-19-06, 01:28 AM	Hey all fantasy fans, i posted this in the d20 forums, but i thought what you guys had to say about this. I hope i can get both modern/fantasy DM's to help me out here. Here is the original post. Im planning on making a very epic campaign that could last the rest of high school (sophomore) or maybe even longer. I plan on them starting out in delta force selection then going through training, to really help to develop their characters at the onset. Then slowly so ever slowly they will learn of the kroath and their plans to take over. What i need is, tips for invasion campaign and and sort of advice you can give me. What did you do that worked well in invasion and other stuff like that. you can even tell me some evasion stories that youve been through, or have put players through.
Comus 06-19-06, 01:51 AM	An invasion, eh? Well, let's see what I can come up with without using any really advanced tech. For an opener, I'd start with dropping a few rocks onto major governmental and population centers. The bigger the better. If you need the biosphere intact, something a kilometer wide should be fine. That'd make a nice hole in the ground. This should cause a lot of chaos. If the goal isn't to just kill most humans, but instead to enslave them, this is when you start rounding them up. If killing them is fine, next I'd use biological weapons. Not just any bio-weapons, of course, but our own. After all, they aren't going to do anything to the aliens, and they could be quite disabling for humanity. The biggest threat to any ships is going to be large missiles. Thankfully, a laser-based point-defense system shouldn't be too difficult. Of course, a laser could work well against ground targets, as well, but a few 'crowbars' dropped from orbit will work nearly as well. Hm. What else... Ah, don't forget to use EMPs to disable all electronic equipment. They're easy enough to generate, so that won't be a problem. That's about all I've got, at the moment. Hope it helps!
