I'm working on an adventure where the PC's (18th level) encounter the creatures from alien vs. Predator movie. (On earth about a year after where the movie leaves off.) I need help making the stats for these creatures.
Anyone have any idea where to find the stats on them, or better yet, can any of you create the stats and post them?
I'd really appriciate any help you guys can give. thanks in advance...

you are joking...right?

well, if oyur not, predators are very little without their weird equipment, no stealth, no weird sight, no kick ass gun. and most of them had class levels (they clearly have at least 1 ranger in AvP). if i had to venture a guess, theyd be orcs, without light sensitivity, they have strenght far superior to humans, but arent chucking cars, iether, but not phenominaly so, and only a mother could love their faces. realy, most of their "power" is stuff attributable to class levels.

aliens (they realy should name those things) on the other hand, are the exact opposite. no equip, but crazy powerful. definitely aberations, but from their your on your own.

not only that, but the Yaut-ja(predators) are chucking cars.

they should have about a 40 str.

realy??? i cant seem to think of any instances when... then again im not much of a sci-fi junky. w/e
my overall point remains valid, predator are more about skill, where alien is race

There already is a version of predator in DnD. It is in the MMIII, astral stalkers are the predators of DnD. Just take one and tack on some ranger levels and start the hunt.

They are called Xenomorphs.

Xenomorph is a description, not a name. It means an unknown creature type. From the Greek xeno (strange) and morph (form, shape).

The aliens have no name.

Astral Stalkers are predators... intresting. What about the Alien Predator that bursts of of Good Predator at the end of the movie?

Steel predator is really close to an alien. It is large and very strong and looks like an alien

Is not every name merely a description of the being behind it?
Seriously, the aliens are being referred to as Xenomorphs even by those that do know them (e.g. by breeding and experimenting with them)...

No

The term was used by Gorman in Aliens to inform the marines that they were likely going to be up against creatures with which they were not familiar. Many people, unaware of what the term mean, assumed it was a name and have used it as such. This, unfortunately, has included people who have expanded upon the universe in other media and films, normally with dreadful results.

Gorman could just as easily have said "All we know is that there's still no contact with the colony and that a creature of unknown type may be involved" which would have lead to people insisting that they are named "a creature of unknown type." ;)

But Xenomorph is a really cool name. Didn't they make it official at some point? Or at least given up on trying to correct people?

EDIT: I move for the stats of the Kythons from BoVD being used for the Aliens.

Aliens or Xenomorphs where never named. Just always refered to as Xenomorphs. The fact they are un-named added to the fear of the unknown.

I'm sorry, I didn't see the movie AvP, but wasn't the predator the one without equipment? I think I saw the original Predator, but I can't remember.

The predator are the super high tech ancient race. Aliens are the perfect biological entity.

(On earth about a year after where the movie leaves off.) You'd get better results posting in the right forum (http://boards1.wizards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=467) then.

predator:
either make a githyanki with a buch of ranger levels and cool gear, or use an astral stalker. i would pick the stalker, since what it can do, and what predator can do (in any of the movies) is pretty similar.

alien:
steel predators or kytons are good. if you are having the life-cycle, use a kyton, since the system is pretty much done for you already.
Thubby

correct me if im wrong here, but arent ktons chain demons??? how would that be alien?
Neratos

Thubby you are right, but they use the name agon in BoVD

Edit: Oops, forgot the h lol

No Thubby, Kytons are the Chain devils of Jangling Hiter, Kythons are the alien looking monsters in D&D.

predator should have the rogue and ranger classes....the aliens....well idk....predator should get more str bonus than aliens, but less dex bonus....predator should be well equiped....aliens should have some massive + to climb and a lil more jump bonus than predator....all in all the predator is like an intelligent fighter using high tech weaponry and aliens shouldn't be that strong or smart but more or less played like a swarm of stupid orcs with a move silent check

Aliens are anything but stupid. Their inteligence is quite frightening, hence they figure most obsticals out quite quickly. They simply lack the higher knowledges of physics/math/ect. They do suicidal things, simply cause they are commanded to. The Hive Queen would have an Int of 12-14.

May I suggest this for the Yautja:

No a Hive Queen would have a much Higher Intel. Her Inteligence would be at the very least an 18. In some of the Books they are quoted as having an IQ of at least 160. The Drones would be int of 8.

The Queens and Empressess(spl?) would have high int...

And let's not forget the Predator's unarmed skill. After all, they do kick arse even when unarmed... You might also want to invent some new gear for them. Like the mask, the plasma caster, etc...

They are not so much intelligent as cunning. I would think it more a high WIS than high INT.

It's just a discussion, man, don't get upset. And in answer to your question: I do. It isn't important in any way - it's just a movie after all - but I am a huge fan of the film and I care about it.

If you are so keen that he get said stats and not have the thread derailed then why not post some stat ideas instead of derialing the thread by castigating people for derailing the thread? ;)

A Google search of "avp d20" should turn up some examples of different AvP builds. I know several links have been posted to these forums many times over the years.

I think it's that time of month again my friend ;)

I didn't post some stats because I dont know where any are, I cannot access any useful search engines and I dont have the time or the AVP knowledge to make them myself.

You have done for me what I set out to do by posting the "derailing post" = you have actually provided something useful - A Google search of "avp d20" should turn up some examples of different AvP builds. I know several links have been posted to these forums many times over the years.

Well done  (Wizards First Rule)

Actually, the Kython look like Tyrannids from Warhammer 40k. Similar to Genestealers, hormogaunts and termigants. But I guess you could also argue that genestealers were a total rip of Aliens...so, nevermind :)

and for my opinion...xenomorph I think is loosely used for any creature that is unknown. Just like Bogie is used by fighter pilots to say that there is something in the air but it isnt identified yet.
