So I've got a bit of an alignment dilema and Im not sure exactly how to handle it. My players are about to kill a group of neutral/good people believing them to be evil. They have what seems to be solid evidence of the groups guilt and have dismissed several hints suggesting they might not be evil. Im wondering if there should be any alignment consequences to the killings even though they were trying to do something good. I'm leaning towards no alignmnent shift but Im curious what you all think.

I wouldn't worry about an alignment shift (assuming your party is good) if they exercised due diligince to make sure that these group of people are indeed evil.

Think we would need a bit more information to help more. Why do they think this group is evil, and why are they killing evil.
Do they have this group of people captured and are debating execution, is it possible for the group to considor taking them back for a trial?
