so 3 PC's are walking down the street. Anna the Female Human Wizard lv.1, Yami the female Human Shinto Prestess lv.1 and Kimiko the lv1 school girl. Its one of those nice underground streets dug by kobolds :D. 4 NPCs are with them Larry the Koblod (realy a Bearded Devil in disguise), NightShade lv.3 moon neko sorceress and 2 annonimus koblod mercenarys.

The street ends in a big square with a pedistal in the middle and everyone runs up to it. On it they see to nice shiny flashy buttoned diviced. Larry grabs the big one and says "Muhahahahahaha" and runs. The pcs don't care. They though he diserved it because he disabled about 6 traps that would have ended their punny little level 1 lives.

Kimiko says " This looks like it is from my world let me see what I can do with it." she activates it and everyone is sucked through a portal to her world (but they dont know it yet).

Now they are in another kind of street. Still underground but this one has nice metal rails on the ground :D. Me-"Every one make a listen check."

<rolls>

Me-"You hear a low rumbleing and a clicity-clack sound."

Kimiko- "run a subway!!!!"

So they all manage to get away fom the train and onto the station platform.

NPC- "Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh monster!" points at kobolds but not the neko.

they all run out of shibuya station into an ally. anna gets the smart idea to cast disgiuese (I modified disguise self so it could be used on others) on one of the kobolds and Nightshade did the same thing to the other.

Now its night and they are lost in Shinjuku after trying walk to kimiko's appartment. The disguse spells have long worn off so the kobolds are wearing cloaks. Enter Hiyato...
"Good evening ladies, would I be able to interest you in a drink?"
Anna- "Have at thee foul nave!! Magic Missle!!!"
Yami- " I smash him with my Kendo stick!!"
Kimiko-" I jump in the way!!!"

Me- Roll jump and dex checks

Fail

3 + 4 = 7 or dieing Hiyato they got him in the suprise round

Kimiko- "why did you do that you stupid idiots?"

Anna-" He insulted my honour!"

Yami-" I'm sadistic."

10 Yokazu surrond them.

Yokazu leader Hiyato's older brother- " Men get him to the hospital. As for you prepare to die." So they did all but Kimiko.

Now one wants to play cause they dont want to roleplay and because if they know anything about the modern world its metagaming. My head hurts. I might be able to convice them to play again but i will need to make a campain thats all D&D or all d20 modern for them to play it. Grrrr stupid PCs getting in the way of my art form. I am tyred of haveing to not use my good idea's because crappy role players who woun't give somthing more than 1 session long to give it a chance.

Can all you realy good DMs make your players move to whitby.

That makes two of us.

Anyways, if they are new, try to make a style of game that draws their interest. Even if you lead off with a more kick-in-the-door or whatnot campaign style, it might be enough to get them familiar with things and aware of some the aspects of how the game is played. An introduction as it were.

i dont see why they had to die... i'm guessing this is some badass gang... but wouldn't they be a little freaked out at the sight of these guys?

maybe your players just don't want to roleplay in a real world

the idea sounds a bit too much like Inuyasha :barf:

Sounds like you have the players plaing the wrong game. Or perhaps you should just write your game in novel form, that way nobody will mess up your campaign.

I thought It sounded really cool.

I hate it when PCs get the idea that the game is about them and want to try and do their own thing - bah!:hoppingma

They didn't deserve to die. They should have been captured. If they want to play the "socially inadapted" in a real world, give them a chance to hide in the sewers.
