| Sammael9301-13-07, 08:54 PM | In the Epic Level Handbook, under the prerequisites of feats such as Multiweapon Rend and Two Weapon Rend are listed (I am assuming) feats called Multidexterity and Ambidexterity. I checked the PH and this book, and could not find them listed anywhere. Do they simply mean that the character wanting to gain this feat must have been created as amibdextrous or multidextrous? Or is there a listed feat somewhere for these? A link or post of the exact feat, if there is one, would be great. Next, in the same book, under the feat Epic Speed is the prerequisite of Run. Does it literally mean that the character trying to gain this skill has to be able to run, or is there another hidden feat I am missing? Finally, under the epic feat Legendary Leaper, it gives you the benefit of not having your jumps be restricted by your height. This makes sense, but where is it ever listed that your jumps are restricted by your height? Links or direct quotes of to these questions would be great. (Just a note, I am using the CRB v.3.5, so if these things are from version 3, could you still provide a link or quote? Thanks!) |

| chava01-13-07, 09:04 PM | Ambidexterity was a feat in 3.0 (used as a prereq for Two-Weapon Fighting). Run is a feat in PH. It allows a player to run at 5x their base speed and gain +4 on jump checks as long as you have a running start. I think that their is size (small, medium) and their height as a correlation of how much a creature has to jump to reach that overhang in the ledge. (PH - skill section) But that's the only one that comes to mind. |
| HarlequinHelsing01-13-07, 09:05 PM | Um... There's a Run feat in the PHB that allows you to 'run at 5 times normal speed, +4 bonus on jumps made after running start' or something like that. Anyway, it's in the SRD. As for the rest, your guess is as good as mine. |
| fatal error01-13-07, 09:29 PM | Ambidexterity and Jump height restrictions are both relics of 3.0 |
| shadowfox62801-13-07, 09:44 PM | As those have said before, Ambidexterity is a thing of the past (and, according to the others, also applies to max Jump Heights (I'm not saying they're wrong, it's just new info to me)). Ambidexterity was a feat to reduce the penalties for Two-Weapon Fighting. Multideterity is along the same lines of Ambidexterity, but only applies to creatures with 3 or more limbs to attack. There's also Multi Weapon Fighting, which is still part of 3.5. Check your Monster Manual or a SRD for details. |
| ChubZ01-13-07, 10:01 PM | Can anyone tell me how does ambidexterity work in 3.5? Upgrading old NPC that has feint trick with his ambidexterity switching hands stuff... Can someone just state that he uses his hands as an ambidexter would or is he still expected to take TWF? Is there any official reference to this? thanks |

So you can either rule that there are no On or Off hands unless you're using two-weapons, or you can rule that you take a -4 (the penalty ambidexterity took away) for using your offhand unless you take Two-Weapon Fighting. The latter is what I feel is more in the spirit of the change, it was meant to be a buff to dual wielders, not a destruction of handedness. |

I feel it's removal was because it was now tied into TWF, not because everyone became ambidextrous. |
| ZombieDragon01-14-07, 12:30 AM | Ambidexterity made the TWF tree to feat intensive, so Wizards dropped it. ChubZ The feint trick would now just use a bluff. The bluff would go against a sense motive. that's unless 'feint trick' is a feat i have yet to read. So your NPC would get a new feat Hope I helped, sorry if I didn't. |

Well, Feinting is still a special combat action, it relies on bluff and takes a standard action. To make it a move action you need to take Combat Expertise and Improved Feint. |
