An "adventure organizer" program? [Archive] - Wizards Community

08-02-06, 10:45 AM I have looked around some, and figured that this would be the best place to ask.

Just recently I spent some time (at work) day dreaming up a campaign idea and a few adventures. I would like to write it down, so that I don't forget it. However, when I simply write out my campaign ideas, it tends to get jumbled nad very hard to go through. I am wondering if there are any cool little applications out there that could serve as a campaign/adventure tracker?

And didn't there used to be a post with links to all kinds of D&D programs and stuff?

All I'm looking for is something that lets me organize adventures.

For example:

Folder/box/whatever 1: General overall quest
Thing 2: Side Quests to main quest
Thing 3: " "
Thing 3.1: side quest to sidequest.

And so on and so forth

End Example.

Anything? Even a "No nothing at all helpful like that has ever been thought of before?... I can't believe that I could think of something that hasn't been thought of and done already; it just isn't possible.

08-03-06, 03:39 PM I use Microsoft Access, and create a database. But im sure there is a program out there for this. Other options: write it down. --> that isnt supposed to be as harsh as it sounds.

08-03-06, 03:43 PM I use the DM Genie program to plan adventures. Go to www.DMGENIE.com and download the free 90 day trial. It has pretty much everything I need all spell, Creatures, feats ect. I use the campaign manager on it to plan adventures I normally use a word program and put the name and HP and AC on top then the attacks and under that just copy and paste the stats then print it out. THe genie will add in all modifiers for you and items. Best program ever for a DM. Players have a genie that is compatable.

08-03-06, 03:55 PM I'll have to check out DM Genie... and if I don't like it. I'll use Access (never thought of it [needs some use anyway]). And if all else fails. I'll have to write it down... I was looking for an alternative to writing.
