| maddog071403-08-07, 11:31 PM | I'm writing a high level adventure where the PC's (A high level elf and a high level human) are forced to discover Demogorgan's true name in order to use it as a bargaining chip. Once they have it, The elf will be persuaded (A little manipulation and suggestion by the DM, thru NPC's) to go to Arvandor to be prepared to give Demogorgons true name to the Selderine, while the high level human goes to demogorgans plane (Which they have already been to early in the adventure) to bargain for the release of a soul trapped there, and a truce, or else his friend the elf will give out demogorgan's true name to the selderine and whoever else wants it. (In this campaign, a demons true name is a powerful tool against it) I'm trying to find out could a elf from the material plane simply go to whatever city the selderine live in and gain an audiance and tell his story? I mean I'm sure he can if the DM says he can, but as the DM, I don't want to make it that easy. Any suggestions? Also, if anyone has any names of the selderines city, or any elven city in arvandor, or how the denizens of the plane would greet an elf outsider? I would appriciate it. Thanks |

Its not everyday someone comes a-knockin' claiming to know Demogorgon's true name. |

I don't think that there would be any hostility unless the elf in question had done something that was very questionable (i.e. harmful to the other elves). |
| maddog071403-18-07, 10:09 AM | this is off topic a little, but what prevents elves or humans on the prime plane from visiting elves that have passed on to arvandor all the time if they have planeshift ability? like teleporting to another kingdom and visiting a loved one? I've made a rule that when elves from the material plane enter Arvandor, every hour they must make a save or want to stay there forever. |
| darkhellion2103-23-07, 12:02 PM | I don't think that there is specifically preventing it, but Arvandor itself is protected by powerful Elven High magic and various deities of the Elven Pantheon (so I would think that you would have to have a really good reason to go there, not just so you could "visit with your parents on the weekends"). :teach: |
