What does it mean when someone refers to a fellow gamer as "steve" when thats not really his name? Can I have some examples so I know how to spot this type of person.

Whenever someone is beign a really big douchebag, you say this:

"Steve, your being a douchebag, stop it." Then, you use the magic +4 folding chair of steve bane to whack him upside the head. repeat as needed.

Thus, a Steve is a really big douchebag, and you must identify them as a Steve to make the folding chair able to bypass the DR/Epic that the douchebag template provides.

Correct in some respects, wrong in others. The Folding Chair of Salvation is a +3 Merciful Greatclub with other properties. See link in my sig for details. If you kill Steve, then you have to find a new player, which is counterproductive. The Chair is a correctional device more than it is a weapon.

You call the guy Steve originally because I happened to dislike that name and I invented the whole "folding chair" thing. It has now become an official title in the Cult of the Chair, taking a similar role to the title of ha-Satan (adversary) in Judaism.

You are correct in that Steve is the title you give to the douchebag loser in your group, however.

Merciful in deed. You know, just a few years ago, standard policy on these boards was to whack players like Steve over the head with a shovel, then bury them in the backyard.

Ah, but with my method, Steve is reformed and becomes a productive memeber of the group again. Why waste a perfectly good player with just a few problems?

I still prefer my group's tried and tested method. I even took Exotic Weapon Proficiency Monster Manual.

EWP Monster Manual? Nah...

UA variant Weapon Group (Monster Manuals)! You can switch between MMs at a moments notice! Plus, if Steve is a:

"3.5 is about options, so my character gets fractional BAB and the gestalt option. I don't care if you think otherwise, this is a fantasy game!"

guy you can beat him using his own variants!
