| Wishim Clubfoot01-30-06, 07:07 PM | Hey, I have a slight problem... I have not played extensively as a druid, or had players play extensively as a druid and now I am running a campaign and want to use an orcish druid to take on the dwarven barbarian and his magi brother. So I used the random NPC generator in the Useful DM links section but came up cold... here is why... Druid lv 3 has a cr rating of 3 but his 6hd tiger companion has a cr rating of 4... I am quite puzzled as to why the animal companion would be a more formidable foe then the druid himself... As a result I have searched my resource books and come up empty as to rules applying to animal companion restrictions... What kind of animals are too powerful for low level druids? Are there any tables applying to Druid LV to the CR of their animal friends? Or is an animal thats more powerful then the druid, following the druid totally plausable? Please respond as soon as you can, I am running my campaign this saturday so this information could be very useful in a very nasty ambush involving lots of spikey tree stubs impaling my players :D Of course the druids going to loose though :P I just like to make them earn their blood money... |
