In terms of stats its a cross of a wolf and a cheetah. Balanced? Yes no? If not what changes should be made? Ocelot Small Animal Hit dice: 2d8 +2 (11 hp) Initiative: +4 Speed: 50 feet Armor class: 16 (+1 size +4 dex +1 natural), touch 15, flat-footed 12 Attack: Bite +5 (1d6 +1) Full attack: Bite +6 melee (1d6 +1) and 2 claws +2 melee (1d2) Space/Reach: 5 ft./5 ft. | mekillot11-08-04, 11:16 PM | an ocelot is a smallish critter- about the size of a coyote. you could give it the same stats as a dog and add 2 claw attacks for 1d3 each at -5 to hit (standard multi-attack penalty). another take would be to take a leapord and knock off some hit dice. one thing I did IMC: when the druid's pet gained hit dice as the druid gained levels, I added 2 levels of Ranger instead of the normal critter hit dice. This gave the pet the Track feat, the ability to be barded without penalty, and multiattack feat (instead of two weapon fighting). the hit dice are the same between critters and rangers so hit points are not an issue. one benefit of giving the critter a level or two of ranger instead of normal critter hit dice is that the scent ability is much easier to adjudicate- just use the track skill and add a +6 circumstance bonus for the scent ability. the druid did not realize the change until one day the wolf said to him during one of their conversations (ala "speak with animals" spell) that he was tired of getting beaten on and would the druid be so kind as to throw some of that nice hard skin (armor) on his best buddy? |
