I know there is an alternate way in the Unearthed Arcana book to do AC. Something like a deflection bonus based on class I think? Does anyone have that info that they can give me. I am going to run a bounty hunter campaign and I think it would add a bit of flavor if I ran AC that way

Thanks! \m/ ROCK ON!! \m/

In Wheel of time d20 there was a defense bonus for class, as in Star wars and spycraft. They usually started at +2 or +3 and increased at the speed of saves. This didn't stack with armor except for fighters.

Not sure how to do it in D&D though... check out UA.

Class-based Defense is intended for use in conjunction with Armor DR (worn armor grants DR/- equal to its armor bonus, but you lose your CDB while wearing armor). Both are concepts used in D20 Modern as part of the "heroic" flavor. Take a look at this (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=d20/article/msrd) for reference.

I would do this for CDB:

Class without armor proficiencies: 3 + 1/2 class level
Class with abilities limited by Medium and Heavy armor: 1 + 1/2 class level
Class with full armor proficiencies: 1/3 class level
